The perfect phone for me, except the battery

I purchased a Galaxy S6 edge at launch. A beautiful gold 64GB version. Samsung really did a fantastic job with this device and I loved it.

Unfortunately, after about a month or so of owning one (probably a bit longer) I simply could not handle the weak battery life anymore. I was making it from 9am to 245pm before I was below 10% due to my heavier usage. I had to fully charge phone two to three times a day, and I was getting 2.5 hours of SOT generally.

I was a bit disappointed because everything else about the phone is incredible. The camera is great, the build quality amazing, the looks beautiful and performance.... At least passable. I did have some significant lag sometimes but nothing too crazy.

I picked up a G4 last week using my JUMP on T-mobile. I like this phone a lot, but not as much as the S6. However, I will keep this simply because of battery life. I can make it all day on a single charge. Compared with charging two to three times a day from below 10%.

I do miss the phone. Especially because if its build quality. And Andrew's article on why he doesn't like the G4 all that much is 100% accurate.

Ah that's a bummer...did you ever consider bringing it to your t-mobile store and complaining about the battery to see if they would have replaced it?

I can make it 26-28 hours on a full charge, with about 3 hours of SOT. I have to really push for 3 hours of SOT though, and I thought I was a heavy user :D. I think it's on track to get around 5+ SOT with about 17 hours on a full charge. I would go and talk about it at T-mobile, you definitly got a lemon.

This was my second one and it was the same thing, so I figured it just can't handle my heavy usage. Take a look at this screen shot.... That was my typical day.

On both devices. My first edge and my second. :-(

Such a nice phone. I'll end up going back if they end up fixing battery life but it needs to be a significant improvement.

I'm a power user to. I just bring a power bank with me and charge s6e for like an hour mid day then again when I get off work. I didn't think I could live with a non removable battery but it wasn't as big a deal as I thought it would be. Ex note 4 user.

I'm a PE teacher so I'm far from confined to an office...just nice to have it on my desk if need be...

Battery life is my biggest complaint with this phone. It's mediocre on mine.
I do have times when the phone slows to a crawl...
BTW, mine is also a 64gb gold edge.

For all the power users. Get a power case. And get a good one. The Mophie for example. Problem solved. All the power cases that add up to 3000 mAh don't add too much bulk to the phone. I recently also discovered the I-blades. A quite innovative company that produces smartcases, that add functionalities through detachable modules. You can get extra battery, 64 Gb and an air quality sensor. And use them only at times, not adding bulk to the case..
