the phone can take it!

Great to hear you got your phone back, and nothing was broken! So much easier than dealing with insurance, re-loading everything, etc.

It is funny how they can take a massive hit and survive, but then sometimes break so easily. Mine has taken a couple of good drops with no issue. Just using a TPU case, no screen protector. Then I drop it maybe a foot onto my trackball, which was sitting on a sofa, and it cracks the screen.

went to drop the doggies off at the groomer who works nearby. she was stuck in roadwork traffic and didn't arrive before me. my pup Bella was in a frenzy that had me horribly distracted. groomer and I had been texting. I guess when I got out I put my phone on top of my car because when I got home it wasn't with me.

I started back the way I had come home and looked everywhere along the way, including thoroughly in front of the place where she works. it's a bit remote, not her place, and is actually the home where I got my other pup Jazzy. the phone was not to be found. I continued searching all the way home, making plans as I drove for the steps I needed to take before someone nefarious did unspeakable things with my phone and data. keep in mind I live pretty rural, but town adjacent.

got home and started changing my main password, then headed to google to use find my phone to see if I could ping it and deactivate it. next I was going to call it to assist with the locating. I opened my email and my son had sent me an email saying "Picked up by someone. Scott Gardner, 253 xxx xxxx. I started calling but no one would answer. I was so freaked by then that I forgot to call it. my son reminded me and Scott picked up my phone "you must be the owner".

we met and I got my phone back, offered a reward which he sweetly declined, gave me his card and said "in case you ever need anything. he is great big, teddy bear, hunky, mountain of a man. if only I were 20 years younger and he wasn't married. lol

the phone was on the side of the road, he passed it coming and then picked it up on his way back. he was as surprised as me that he actually made contact with me and was able to return it to me. I told him to tell his wife she got a good one. ;)

the phone is in perfect condition after riding atop my car, bouncing to the ground, etc. the case is slightly scuffed, the screen protector has one small scuff on the corner, and my all glass Note 8 is perfect! Alcantra case by Samsung and this screen protector. I even have an extra one to put on if I want. can't believe how this turned out. I was already planning whether to contact my main insurance, if lost, or Worth Ave if I found it and glass was broken.

This is fantastic! :D glad to hear it all worked out in the end.

Mine has also taken quite the beating by the Incipio NGP case that I use on it continues to be incredibly strong and resilient to all the abuse I give the phone.

oh no! very sorry to hear this. hurts just thinking about it. my condolences.

Thanks, but it turned out well, thankfully. Phone still worked perfectly until I could get it in, $99 fix via a Square Trade warranty. All good.

the last couple of days I noticed one or more dead pixels, I suspect, in a cluster near one of the impact points. anyone know if a bounce can cause dead pixels?

anyone have a good fix for dead pixels other than repair. trying an app now. if you successfully used an app, which app did you use? a link would be helpful. thanks!

So glad you got it back. I hyperventilate when I can't find mine.

Most devices today are well built and if you add a case and screen protector you should be good for the life of the device with normal drops and spills.
