Last year, moto let you replace the plastic lens, but this year the plastic lens is not user replaceable. You can send it into Motorola to get it replaced though...

To clarify, the plastic lens is essentially a plastic screen protector that is the top layer of the display on the z2 Force.

Don't use it until you get a protector on it.

Just like the first Moto Z Force.

That's really bad.... Just hope people buying it know to put a protector on it on it. In all honesty Gorilla Glass 5 is poor against scratches as well. I made the mistake of taking my screen protector off thinking my V20 screen would be as tuff as my Droid Maxx....boy was I wrong.

I can guarantee you that the moto z2 Force screen will scratch much much easier than a phone with gorilla Glass 5. Of course somerh small like sand would still scratch gg5.

My V20 had a scratch that you can feel 1 week after removing the screenand it wasn't from a drop. There were also fine scratches that buff out and return after touching so those are in the oleophobic coating. I realize the shatter shield is much easier to scratch and it was a major reason I stayed away from purchasing anything Moto with it.

I find it easier to have screen protectors on my phone, better to be safe than sorry. I also havr cases on mine, but I'm not 100% sure whether my V20 needs one.
