The Regular s21 Back Is Plastic

After seeing the CNET video of how easily the back and screen crack I would be happy to have a grippier, nice looking plastic back. Or ceramic, like the Essential. And a screen composition like the ip12.
The BlackBerry KeyOne and Key2/le, the Passport and others all had terrific looking backs.

An Apple blog did an iPhone 12 and S21U and the iPhone came out worse and the Ultra had no major wear nor tear. Each review will give you something else.

another issue people crying about it is the sd card slot, same people that complained back in the days of the floppy disk goin to diskettes and then to cd.. the sd card slow the phone. take it or go to iphone.. oh wait iphones doesnt have it either lol.

I complained about the loss of SD. goign from floppy to diskettes is a different argument. You still have a removeable storage, that you can swap around. Taking the SD card slot out is a money grab. There is not much space lost with the SD card in as it uses the same tray as the SIM.

You could argue about the adoptable storage issue, but keeping the phone at 128 is usually enough for most apps, and the SD card, for me at least, stored the pictures and files, to keep the internal storage free for the apps and OS. New phone? swap the SD card. easy peasy. for a 128GB increase at $50, I could get much more for less with an SD card.

Also, some folks aren't on an unlimited plan, and having to view files and pics from the cloud gets tiring. Google Photos buffers forever all my videos I try to watch from the cloud. over multiple sammys and LG phones this occurs. In a bad cell area? you are screwed too.

You may not need it, but others may. I could argue why do you need a 3000sf home for a family of 3 when a 1500sf home is enough, or why drive a Benz, when an Accord can get you to the same place.

Mini is smaller (5.4''), S21 is more in the size of iPhone 12/pro models. But mini is a beautiful phone at that price point and welcome change to have good phone at smaller size. I have that as well and enjoy using it once in a while

Yeah Samsung definitely saving money but not sure how much saving it is compared to glass vs plastic. I guess at the scale they manufacture even small amounts might add up. But personally I don't think it's the right decision from Samsung to have plastic instead of glass on their base models. I think they should keep that design with FE models.

I wouldn't mind using a 5.4-inch phone. My LG G3 was 5.5" I think, and that was a good middle ground.

My S10+ has a ceramic back. Makes the phone heavier but it looks and feels wonderful. I have dropped my phone a few times and it is still immaculate. Not a scratch on it.
