The S9's display shifts color temperature a little bit off-axis (as most OLEDs do)

Now, don't get sassy. If you know OLED, you'd know that color shifting is a trait of OLED and every panel will have this phenomenon, of varying levels.

But because the Pixel 2 XL got everyone noticing, I thought I'd just let everyone know.

Does the S9's display shift color? Yes. How significantly? Depends on the unit but I've tried every one on the show floor and none shifted as badly to the point where it's annoying, and certainly not nearly as bad as the worst P2XL unit I've used shown below.

Now let's just rest on this, okay? All OLEDs shift color at certain angles. Hell, my Note shifts red at the same angles. Unless it's really bad, it's not really indicative of a defect and if you stopped noticing or are okay with it, that's fine.

Just checked mine. It's almost non existent. My Note 8 is much worse. It shifts to pink/red even slightly off angle.

Minor shifts are normal.

Extreme ones aren't and unless you somehow can live with them, you should try getting one with less drastic shifting

It's not even really that noticeable tbh.

It's really noticeable on my Note 8. It's barely noticeable on my S9+. I'm loving the S9+ so far.

Love my S9 so far. My old S8 had pink edges and overall pink hue when in any mode other than Adaptive. My Pixel 2 XL has mild blue shift. S9 just has very minimal blue edges and shift when at an extreme angle, not a hint of pink anywhere. Also the basic color profile looks perfect and same colors as my Pixel and iPhone X. Very happy with my S9 screen.

I returned my pre-order S8+ for the nasty pink edges. The replacement they sent me was even worse. The entire display was off. I had people comment and ask me what was wrong with it.
That one went back also, lol. I gave up on the S8+.
