The Trading Fascinate for a Thunderbolt Thread

Would it be fair to say a switch to the TB is a good upgrade for someone who doesn't want to root, hack, voodoo, ROM or whatever their phone? I rooted just to remove bloat, but I don't want/need to do anything else. I think the phone is great as is, but the response to most posts here is to root and ROM your Fascinate if you want it to even be at a level of other phones.

HTC has the most phones on 2.2, and is the fastest to upgrade their phones. I'm not switching to the TB yet because I can't give up the super AMOLED, and I really like this phone a lot. But I can see a move to the TB being good for someone who wants 2.2 right now, and a better chance of getting an upgrade in future in a timely manner.

Sorry to give you the canned answer, but the best phone for you is the one that fits your needs the best. So you will have to decide which is more important for you. The possibility of better OS updates, or the screen and display quality.

Gotta admit them 4g speeds are insane. No need wifi with unlimited 4g.
I don't get 4g till 2020 prolly (live in boonies)

With all the news items on the front page about the TB being on sale here or there for this price or that, you would have thought that people finally decided to move to a real phone. Didn't someone pop over and tell anyone that the Fascinate has been out for awhile now? Who dropped the ball?

Apparently not as bad as my attempts a humor. I am gonna go with tired too as an excuse.

All I was trying to say more or less is that i dont see the real appeal of the TB as compared to the Fascinate. The way it was hyped and longed over I would have thought it was the the second coming....

I guess the humor needs to be left to the pros..

Had an upgrade available and was waiting on the TB. Till I found these forums. Used my upgrade to get a tab and my phone looks different everyday. Lol really screws with my coworkers especially when they see our own home videos as my boot animations.(Wife is still using honeycomb boot ani) but thanks to all the hard work of everyone here. I now don't have to give up this beautiful screen.

I just don't see a better phone than my rooted Fascinate....It has everything I need/want....Maybe that will change later this year but it is perfect for right now...
