Every time I use someone else's phone like a DroidX or an Incredible I feel like I am looking at a dull, faded out screen. I can't see myself tying to sell the Fascinate or upgrading until I can get some S-Amoled goodness along with my LTE or Dual Core.
My phone is rockin because of these forums and I plan on keeping her for a while.

yeah, I keep coming back to that and the GPU. I've had the Bolt for about 3 whole days now and SLCD definitely isn't even close to Super AMOLED. I was playing Angry Birds last night and thought something just looked different so I grabbed the Fascinate out of the dresser and had both phones side-by-side and it was no contest. The Fascinate is much brighter and has noticeably smoother gameplay. The big red bird just kind of blurs on the Thunderbolt but the Fascinate is buttery smooth. Don't think the screen and gaming will be enough to get me to return the Thunderbolt though as it just blows the Fascinate away in everything else. I'd like to hold out for a Super AMOLED Plus screen but I don't like the look of the stealth and I'm not getting roped into waiting for updates or hoping one of the developers is willing to make something awesome from basically nothing. Maybe Verizon will follow Sprint and bring a Nexus S.
this is a great thread guys! now I don't feel so bad about not even thinking about trading my fascinate in for the latest and greatest out there, the thunderbolt commercial... almost had me ;-P
so I got a flier in the mail from vzw saying that if I want to upgrade to the Tbolt, I could do so for $150... this is a really tempting offer. I haven't considered the TBolt since I felt it was just a minor upgrade to LTE, but at such a low price, how can't I consider it? so for those that did switch, is it anything more than a sidegrade to the fascinate?
my only real gripe about the fascinate is that updates to the phone are slow, and it feels like we've lost quite a few devs lately to other devices such as the Tbolt, so I wonder how much dev love we'll get. otherwise the phone is great.

Just sold my Fascinate today. The Thunderbolt has its quirks as does any phone but it's a solid phone.

Just kidding. As has been stated by many people in these forums, the right phone for you is the phone that best suits your needs, desires, and wants. Although personally if I were going to make that move, I would have waited for the DInc 2 to come out. The DInc is no longer available on the vzw website. Has it reached EOL?

Glad I was wrong...I can't believe my small hick town gets 4g this year(sez so on VZW website)....I will be getting a Sammy Charge on release day. Gotta suck it up and pay full price, my contract not up for 18 months. lol
I got so addicted to these smartphones from right here on AC. Normaly I would NEVER spend $600 on a phone and abandon a perfectly good one. But this I will do. So this may be a trading for TB thread, not me.
Rumored drop date is this week thurs...we shall see.

Just another sick rumor.
I think its wierd this phone has ZERO hype. The TB had rabid ppl for weeks.
That's means it will be a great phone I sometimes think that companies hip up stuff they are worried about and it hurts things that r great because no one hears about them.

yea.. the TB had SOOOOO much hype for it and not a single word about the charge... so I'm thinking it's not being released on Thursday

You know what, I realized that I sound like a Troll here. Sorry about that. The Fascinate is a phone with many good features, but it is just not for me. That is the beauty of Android: there are so many phones that you can find the perfect fit.

The thing is when you google samsung droid charge, there are at least 10 sites showing supposedly internal vzw documents saying April 7 as release.
The TB went through this with BB having early preorders then pulling that. Plus numerous drop dates then retracting. Supposedly battery prob or tweaking of the 4g network cited as delays. There were threads in the TB forum from rabid fans that were like 2000 posts in a very short time.
Do they do this on purpose? What would be the thinking if they are? Make ppl go mental? P them off?
I actually forgot about the Droid Charge until you said something, and figured launch day was far down the line until I looked it up...
