The Trading Fascinate for a Thunderbolt Thread

The fascinate is really a great phone and I love it. We are far down the road on the development side and thus this phone is rich in features and mods. I sure the charge will go through growing pains for rooting and rom stuff like any new phone.

Only reason I am hyped about this thing is my area gets 4g soon. Well maybe 2 with the next gen samoled screen. Its hard to imagine a screen more crisp than what we have now, but by accounts of folks who have seen it at CES in Jan, it is better.

The physical buttons scare me tho. Playing with a friends DX, the buttons were kind of wiggly and seem not sturdy. Hope they make the charge ones better.

I love my fascinate phone. Just wish I knew how to root or knew someone who could do it for me so I could get all the bloatwear off of it. I've read the forums and such, but it just seems too confusing for me. I looked at the TB. I like that phone too, but seemed big compared to the fascinate. Maybe the Samsung LTE phone will be here sooner rather than later.

I love the Fascinate too, but it's a damn shame that Verizon Wireless has discontinued all future updates to the phone and that the update to Froyo/2.2 has been abandoned. If I'd known that going in, I'd have purchased a different phone.

HTC 4G, iPhone 4=3G and is a year old. So what caught your eye on the iPhone?

So what proof do you have that Verizon just gave up on this phone? Since Samsung writes the the software? I see blame in both direction. But I would love to hear how you heard this. I have been to two Verizon stores and both are still pushing the phone and are saying a update will come, just don't know when.

Fascinate 4 in screen, the TB 4.3 so just a fraction better. I thought it was a slick phone.

At this point, I don't just have an allegence to Android, I'm with Samsung all the way. The Galaxy S was the tipping point, used to be Samsung just made cheap stuff that fell apart. Nice to see things do change.

I love my Fascinate and but having a hard time waiting on the Charge. I'll have to pay full price but wanted it TODAY. So disappointed. Might look at the TB again, but really want the Charge...

Then wait, unless you have money to burn. I am as about tired of the lack of support for this Fascinate but I will wait. I just can't see throwing money away. The Charge hasn't showed up any where on Samsungs site yet and with the Bionic and iPhone 5 heading to Verizon who knows when they'll release the Charge.

I have been going through this dilema for a while now. I have an upgrade on May 5th and I have been seriously considering upgrading to the TB once that upgrade comes. However, I know what will happen... I go and upgrade to the TB and a month later Dual Core/4G phones come out and I will be stuck w/ the TB until I have another upgrade or I decide to drop some serious cash for retail price.

I honestly LOVE my Fascinate the screen is gorgeous, and with Superclean Froyo is faster than any other phone that I have used. Lack of updates... meh I don't really care I mainly use my phone for texting, calling, and emails. I have my Xoom for games and movies and such. Thats why I don't see not having an official Froyo a problem. Besides... the damn phone runs better than my frineds HTC MyTouch 4G and hes got official Froyo and I don't -_-
