Anyone know what the two indicator looking circles on the left of the Verizon emblem is on the Droid INC?

I'm not sure, but I think it's the face sensor so the screen turns off when you put the phone up to your ear.

Yes that is correct. One is the proximity senser so that screen goes black when you are talking on the phone, and when you pull the phone away from your ear/face the screen can light back up. The second is the sensor for the automatic screen brightness.

The screen turns off when in call with the accelerometer, when the phone goes into an upright position. The two dots are indeed the light sensors, that way it will lighten and darkin the screen when needed. :)

If I make a phone call and just hold it in an upright position, the screen stays on. And this is how I would expect it to work. What if you're on the phone with someone and want to check your calendar? You can't hold it upright? I still think it's the face or proximity sensor.

One is called the "Ambient light sensor" For adjusting screen brightness. The other is a "Proximity sensor" for turning off the screen when you hold it up to your face during a call.

What is the dot to the right then, just another light sensor I guess, LOL :D
