The way 4.1.2 handles Pictures

So ive had my HTC One a couple of weeks now i guess. My 1st android. One thing that is bugging me is the way the Picture gallery handles things. It seems every app like whatsapp, tumblr, twitter app makes its own folder for every upload/download. So I can have duplicates many times over. Its pretty frustrating from someone who likes to keep things clean and tidy. Is there a setting I'm missing to prevent all these folders from being made? Unlocked HTC One 4.1.2 on AT&T

It is the apps that are controlling that. I assume your duplicates are because you are taking pictures with the camera (which goes into the Gallery Camera folder) and you have the other apps set up to auto upload the photos. Best thing I can suggest is to turn off the auto upload in each app and/or turn off syncing.
