Artem Russakovskii (an editor on AndroidPolice.com) claims this this year there may be two Nexus phones released. An LG made 5.2" device and a Huawei made 5.7" one.

Would be the first time there have been two Nexus phones released in a year.

Could be very interesting. Hoping they have same specs (except the 5.7" having a larger battery). Also hoping the pricing is back to Nexus 5 prices. But if they want to charge and compete in the high-end, then the phone absolutely has to be high end. Incredible build quality, fantastic camera, great screen, speakers, battery etc.

If they charge $300 then they can get away with compromises, but not if they're charging $600.

It'll be interesting for sure to see how this strategy to release two different Nexus phones plays out.

Will both phones get a worldwide release? Will the Huawei device be part of an Asia-only strategy to boost Google's presence there? Or will this give Huawei direct access to "Western" markets and treacherous US carriers? Will the LG 5.2" be a "Western"-market-only device to recoup sales lost because of the size of the current Nexus 6 and to add subscribers to Project Fi?

My guess: The LG device will come out at around $400 base price (i.e. 32GB) because LG's not going to want to crank out a Nexus that might steal thunder from the G4.

I'd buy a 5.2" LG Nexus. Like you said, I'll pay the high price so long as it has high end specs, specifically a solid camera and good battery life. I wouldn't mind if they go mid range either, I actually prefer a 1080p display, the spec race has gotten out of control

Android Pit claiming they have a source who claims LG are 'looking into' manufacturing the next Nexus. Don't know how credible Android Pit are or how credible their supposed source is.

I agree with you getbretweir, I'd actually prefer if they moved down to a great 1080p screen and throw in a huge battery so we're getting killer battery life out of it. But I don't see that happening. The trend is to move to 1440p screens and small batteries.

where there's smoke there's fire, and I've heard quite a bit about LG doing the 5.2" Nexus, so hopefully it's true.

I wouldn't mind the 1440p screens so much if they had 3500 mAh minimum. I like to think I'm open minded, but it drives me nuts when S6 owners defend Samsung's move to smaller batteries by regurgitating their "energy efficiency" marketing campaign. I'm not saying they're not more efficient, but give me a break.

And I was initially excited about the G4, but as it sinks in, I'm just not satisfied with that battery either. I don't think asking for a full day is asking much, and I'd never believed that we'd be halfway through 2015 and not one flagship has satisfied my appetite for battery life.

I'm hoping the Moto X comes up big, the rumor is 3280 mAh with a much improved camera. I'm looking to replace my Nexus 4 and S4, but I'll take my time and buy something when it meets my needs. Unless some must have tech comes out, I see no reason why my next devices shouldn't last 3 years minimum.

In the meantime I'm saving some cash and when I see what I like I'll jump. But there's no chance I'm settling for smaller batteries, and even though I think quick charge is cool, it shouldn't be needed.

I just hope they continue the Nexus 6 tradition of one model for all US carriers. With Project Fi still in its infancy, chances are good it'll match the 6 for covered bands. As a Verizon user, this is very important to me!

Just one model has been the norm for all of the Nexus's. Having two models to choose from would be a good thing for consumers so long as one of them isn't the size of a tablet. I see having one or three models as having zero impact on Project Fi. Not to mention Fi was not built around the Nexus 6. The band's are already set for some time now.

I'd like to see LG make a 5.2"... right size, fairly good manufacturer. I'd probably get one. I have not had a Nexus, and with Moto's lack of updates even on a Pure Edition, I'm loosing confidence in Moto's ability to deliver.

I would replace my nexus 5 with a 5.2" inch lg based nexus in a heartbeat, I dont like phablets so the nexus 6 was out, and I have owned my nexus 5 since release, so what that? almost 2 years? I would be excited for something with a better camera and updated hardware.

Of course I have no idea how long it takes from inception to production, but wouldn't the next Nexus already be into some stage of that process in order to have the usual fall offering? A 5.2 inch version would be just right for me.

- 2,700mah battery/fast charge 2.0 (2,700mah has been rumoured so will just go with that)
- Dual front facing speakers
- 16mp camera with OIS (similar in quality to LG G4/Galaxy S6)
- 3gb ram
- 32gb, 64gb models
- USB type C
- Metal build (doubtful, but would be nice)

That would be a pretty awesome device for me, but doubt we'll see it. Probably be a plastic build.

I'd take QHD, but I wouldn't be unhappy with 1080p. I've noticed QHD is easier on my eyes when I'm Kindle-ing.

Not sure if I'd want front-facing speakers or side-facing, I could see front facing ones getting muffled while it's in my pocket.

Big thing I want, besides Qi, is LG's famous rear buttons. It'd basically be like a G2 running stock, which sounds awesome.

I think it's safe to assume that after today's presentation, we can expect a fingerprint scanner and USB-C.

slap a bigger battery and better camera on the N5 and I'll buy one too, but after today, I would be a little disappointed (and surprised) if we didn't see the scanner and USB-C ... I can personally care less about the scanner, but the port would be cool, more because it would future proof it than anything. I expect 24-36 months from my next phones (replacing S4 and Nex4) do those 4 features would be perfect.

I'd also love if they combine 1080p with 3000 mAh (I'll believe Project Volta & Doze when I see it).
