There is a blue dot that keeps popping up when using Maps

This has happened for some time, but everytime I use maps a blue dot appears in the middle of the screen, and I can't lock the phone. I have tried looking in apps and accessibility, with no luck... Can anyone help? The phone is a HTC One M8, Pic below:

Have you tried clearing the cache for the app?

Just did, no luck . Still appears in the middle of the screen...

Does it move when you drag the map around? Is it possible that the dot is related to your own location or any place you pinned before?

It doesn't, it flickers sometime and an small mouse like arrow pops out. But unable to touch anything on the screen.

Weird. Does it disappear if you switch location off from the general settings?
