Qi2 would be fine if they stick to the spec and don't go altering it. As it stands it should be backwards compatible.

Auracast.. the example you gave is a privacy and security disaster waiting to happen. I will NEVER let my phone touch Airport anything, not even with a VPN. Allowing a new-old protocol like this will undoubtedly attract bad actors.

As for other uses, I'm not convinced. Bluetooth just works. Anything 'cast' has historically not been problem free for me.
