I have had two n7's and both have had this ,mostly when on the web browser (chrome and xscope) when the background is white I.can see a black thin line pop up and disappear for like a split second at a random spot on the screen.this same thing happened on my first n7 with chrome and xscope (returned it due to.screen lift) got my.second one that is perfect no screen lift, dead pixels, back light bleed ,but the.thin dark line flicker is still there with both browsers,I installed 4.1.2 and it.seems more frequent now, before the update I would see it maybe once an hour or so,now its like twice or more within a half hour,I have auto brightness turned off if that matters.anyone else.seeing this?btw it happens in portrait and landscape, thanks

Yep I'm seeing this from time to time too. I'll be interested to see if anyone knows what causes it.

Its got to be a software thing I'm thinking, happened with the two I had ,and I.forgot to say that I saw it on a display model at walmart,I just tried turning auto bright on and its still there

I've had it happen a few random and rare times. I have not pin point a rhyme or reason but every time, its been happening around the bottom third of the screen on portrait. Hasn't happen enough to cause alarm but I've noticed.

So brief and so seldom, its the least problem in my life

I to have this but I'm not worried about it at this stage. My device is pretty much perfect otherwise.

I have seen this as well. Mostly when reading in the nook app in low brightness. But I have seen it other times as well. Several google searches point to this being an issue related to low brightness along with poor wifi signal. Both of those situations occur when I notice this so that's what I was going with. Annoying but tolerable.

Don't know that this has anything to do with wifi since it happens when I have wifi turned off...however it certainly could be related to the low brightness setting as that is what mine is always set to.

[edit]: There is a separate flickering issue (not the line issue) which I have heard is related to poor wifi signal...maybe that's what you mean?

The most annoying thing for me is the dimming! When I'm watching a full screen YouTube video with less than 50% brightness, the screen fades black within seconds. I then have to either rotate or guess buttons to get I right again. I hope I can figure this out!

Some people on other forums are saying it goes away completely when you flash a custom ROM such as Trinity to you N7. Just figured that was worth adding.

Did you install a screen dimmer app? I hear those can do bizarre things.. I always get screen flicker whenever I use something with the microUSB--e.g. external USB keyboard, flash stick, etc. It also freezes up the apps I'm using--the other day I was typing notes on Evernote, and it kept erasing all of my formatting and flickering the screen.

I too have seen it happen a could times. It's so fast though. I'm running paranoid android 2.50

I have the Motorola Atrix hd. Running 4.0.4 i notice it happens almost always on youtube vids. And i think every single time, i had my phone charging in the wall charger while the horizontal line flickers on my screen.
