Things that make me upset about the S7 Edge

I found a few things that upset me about this device.

1. Notification LED.
It hardly works, it seems it only works with default apps that's already on the phone. Also no LED managing app works for me.

2. Pop-up notification.
I'm coming from a pure Android OS phone and I loved the pop up notification since lollipop, but it seems like it's not working 85% of the time.
I know there's third party apps that mimic such feature but still it's a feature in Android..

3. Always on display.
Now it's a nice little feature but honestly it's just for show, or just for you to know the time or got a call or text nothing more than that. Now I have a moto x pure. I'm not gonna compare it to the moto display, which shows a lot more information than the always on display. But yea its a good concept samsung.

Other than that it's a great phone, amazing camera, sexy design and a total beast with that 820.

Re: Things that make me upset.

1) I believe this will be fixed in time once developers (like Lightflow) update to support the phone.

2) I am not sure what you mean on this. I get pop ups for hangouts, sms, etc. without issue. I assume you mean the ones that drop down from the top for a few seconds then go away.

3) I can agree this feature can be useless. If someone uses Samsung a lot it could be useful but since right now only Samsung apps work with it -- It makes it useless for me.

3) I'm still trying to figure out how to make either AcDisplay or Dynamic Notifications work as close as possible to Moto Display. I feel the pain haha.

Those apps will never be like moto display.
I love moto display but I can live without it.
I just saying always on display seems bit useless

Yea the AOD is kind of useless, unless you just want an always on clock. If they can incorporate 3rd party notifications into it, I'll be sold immediately back over to using it.

@OP Yeah, those are annoying issues. I've noticed my Gmail doesn't even sync. I have to his refresh 3 or 4 times before new emails come through. I checked and I have sync on in the features, but I have to hit refresh 3/4 times. On my old Note 4, the emails still come through on wifi faster than my S7 Edge.

I am very disappointed and will go back to the Note 4 once I get my free VR gift.

You sound like you have a broken phone -have you tried a factory reset? You shouldn't have gmail sync issues.

Love some of the customization that TouchWiz gives compared to stock android...but some of it is badly implemented. Like adjusting the size of default text is great, but why doesn't it affect the notification shade text or lock screen text? Just looks a little weird to me.

I cannot understand why they would not have that working with 3rd party apps. It doesn't even work with Inbox.

I actually like the notification LED. It's very bright compared to my G3, and has excellent viewing angles.

The touchscreen is much too sensitive on the Verizon model. Hopefully the fix this soon with an update.

it's working with my whatsapp, facebook messenger and snapchat

Having no issues with notifications here.
I like AOD but it needs more, coming from a short stint with the Lumia phones they use AOD as it should be used, not only the time but it allows weather and Calendar events to be displayed..

annoying things aside, do you feel the S7 is $500 better than the Moto X pure. moto has the moto x pure for $299. its very tempting, but I also kinda really want an S7 Edge....

PS I love touchwiz so its not a negative for me.

I still love my moto x pure, because I'm still a stock Android guy I don't mind touchwiz it's alright.

But it depends what ur looking for. The moto x does not have a better camera than the s7 for sure but it feels great in the hand, has bigger display, some features like moto display is great better than always on display. I find my moto x display brighter than my s7, the battery is alright and it charges faster than s7. Also you can design your own if that's your thing.
Also to mention front facing speaker is amazing.

Not sure what phone moto is pulling out this year but if it's way better than moto x pure I have now then I'll prob buy another if the price is right.

I think the SoC (leagues better than the 808), the better AMOLED screen (only slightly smaller at 5.5"), superior camera, better battery size and efficiency, fast wireless charging option and Samsung pay capabilities are more than enough to make it worth the extra $500. Plus, you have the perks of getting a Gear VR free with the promo.

The display is a big noticeable difference, I hold my s7 edge and moto x pure each hand and I know the difference. It seems like a small difference but it's not. And the s7 edge being cured makes it seem smaller a bit than a normal 5.5
