Things to do when you get your GS4 - Help???

I ordered my AT&T Black Mist GS4 on 4/17. It is my second android device with the GS3 being my first one. I know that I can download my apps again but how do I update the contacts and calendar ON GS4 without doing it from scratch?

contacts and calendar will simply sync to your new phone once you log in.

That is true and good advice. As soon as you lok in everything will sync just as you had it before.

Your applications will also automatically download (at least those installed from the Play store) assuming you didn't un-check the box for Google to back up your phone. Your application data may also be restored, but this is really up to the application developers, and it is rare for them to support this feature from what I have seen.

Yes. Just make sure your current device has sync checked for your google account. To double check go into gmail on your computer and check your contacts and calendar to make sure they are synced before replacing your device.

Contact and calender are synced to your Google account, so once u sign in to your Google account on the GS4 they will automatically be transferred

The S3 has a My Calendar and a google calendar which should be your gmail address. To make sure you are using the google calendar, check your google calendar on line to make sure you are seeing the stuff from your phone. I have seen people use the my calendar which does not sync with google. Not sure if all GS3's have that, but just in case you have a ton of stuff on your calendar.
