For me it all comes down to speed: the M8 is a fast phone in every respect. Extremely smooth UI, comparable to the Nexus 5 but with better battery life. I had initially bought the S5 but that was one laggy mess for me. I just can't imagine what drove Samsung to release the phone with such crappy software.

I think Samsung makes good phone, it's just TW is simply terrible and they tend to throw in every little gimmick they can think of to try to one up the competition. Problem is the functionality of these gimmick features is not properly implemented. On top of the already laggy TW it all just destroys what is supposed to be a good phone. I've used both a note 2 and s4. If they were to at least take their time and focus on properly implementing these gimmick features with testing to fix any issues, I'm sure it would be a great phone.

I have Sprint and the M8 is this Harmon Kardon settings just for root or will non root get an update to enable it?

Now that we aren't stuck with just the boomsound equalizer being locked on for speaker listening... It's just about perfect. I'll be rooting to add the Harmon Kardon settings today!

Rooting is the only way to enable the settings on a non HK m8
