So im thinking about getting the 5x because i love pure android and have always had nexus phones and don't want the 6p because of the size. However I have seen a lot of people saying the 5x just isn't smooth and has a lot of performance issues.. How bad exactly are these issues and would you still recommend getting a 5x?

I have not had any performance issues with my Nexus 5X. It is smooth as butter. I will say that the camera issue is kind of annoying, but it will eventually be fixed when app developers update their apps. As of right now, however, the rear camera image is upside down in some third party apps.

Ditto to all of the above posters.

I think it runs great. It's performance is fast, fluid, and reliable.

Scrolling is buttery smooth, unlike every other Android phone I have used. Not seen a single stutter. My Nexus 5 sometimes had a stuttery scroll in Chrome.

This is good to hear.. I'm just wondering why over on Google plus and some tech review sites in the comments section most everyone is complaining about lag and stuttering on the phone and wishing it had 3gb of ram cause two isn't enough apparently

The only lag I've seen is in switching apps (going from one app to the recent apps list and then from the recent apps list to the selected app). No stuttering or lag within apps or even going to the homescreen.

I have been running mine for nearly two weeks - no lag, no issues, no problems.

Do you think there are a large number whose claims of lag are True... So are you guys happy with your purchase of the 5x

These people are looking at the 3gb ram and saying it will stutter and we are actually using it with 2gb ram and saying it doesn't stutter. Who do you believe?

After having Samsungs for a while and loving them, I am actually thrilled with my 5x, it's faster and less bloated on the software than my S5 was.

I've had mine for over two weeks now. No lag at all.

I'm in the process of an RMA because the Project Fi signal just isn't strong/consistent enough in my area and I suspect it's hurting my battery life. I want Nexus Protect on my phone, so now that I'm cancelling Fi the only option is to return and re-purchase. But I have utterly no hesitation about whether I'll order another one once I ship this one back.

There is no basis for most arguments about 2gb RAM.
I am happy with the performance of my N5x

Very happy with mine too.. It exceed my expectation tbh, especially the battery life.

This is my first Android device, ever. Came from iPhone and and this device is very smooth. Ios 9.1 on iPhone had a lot of lag. Haven't seen any lag on 5x. Battery life isn't near what my iPhone 6+ was, but the quick charging makes up for it. I've have gone from 6:30am to 11:00 PM with moderate use before it hit 15% so I know it can make it through a day if I can't top it off.

I have no complaints about 2gb ram, however my device stutters like crazy in chrome, chrome beta. It takes almost a full second to scroll after swiping. And it skips while scrolling.

My buddies does the same thing. As I'm typing the the text isn't showing up for a few seconds after I'm typing it.

This is not made up. And I'm not trying to prove that the device needs 3gb ram. My Moto X 2014 has no lag or stutter all else equequal

Chrome is also exhibiting edge bleed. I'm not sure what's up with that. I mainly use FireFox, and I haven't had any issue swith stutter or lag. Quite the opposite. Scrolling is speedy . . . maybe even to fast . . .
