Thinking about buying and rooting.

I am thinking about buying this phone for my wife, since we have an upgrade available and Amazon is selling it for a penny with upgrade. I am just curious about a few things first.

Is it still easy to root? This guy is running GB right now, but I am not crazy about Bing. I'd like to flash a ROM with Google services.

What ROMs are you all running on it? I have liked CM7 on my DINC, though I am currently running Skyraider. What do you all like for your Revolution?

What is your experience using WiFi tether? With CM7 on my DINC, WiFi tether was hit and miss, though Skyraider seems to handle it just fine. Anyone have issues with their Revolution?

Gingervolt is great ROM. Comes with wifi tether as well.

Installed.several times now and no error reported. But I can not.get it to show that its 2.0 the phone says
1.3 still

I am having that same problem. But the WIFI teather is there in the application drawer. That wasn't there in 1.3.
I think he just didn't increment the version number.
