Hey guys!

I'm thinking about buying LG G3 or LG G4, and I'm still not sure which one should I get...
The main thing that I care about, is the speed of the device, and it's battery life.. I barely care about camera and such...

Now, I know the LG G3 has a better battery life and that LG G4 is stronger, but still..
How weak is the LG G4's battery? could it survive about 13 hours a day ?

The battery is really important to me.. also, I'm not really intrested in switching batteries int he middle of the day..

What do you think should I get?

Thanks!

The LG G4 doesn't have a terrible battery. If you keep the brightness low and don't watch a whole lot of videos or play a whole lot of games you'll be fine. Kicking that QHD screen into full gear is what kills it though.
The LG G3 is still a fantastic phone though, and you can find it way cheaper than the G4. If power and battery life are the only things important to you then go or the G3. It's screen isn't quite as good, and neither is its camera, and arguably its design, and it's a big bigger...but it's also cheaper and that goes a long way to making up for it.

Actually the g4 is a bit bigger than the g3. I have the g3 and my wife has the 4. We both like the g3 better.

Actually, in my place, the different between G3 and G4 is about 200$..
I just don't want my phone to stutter and stuck, and I want a phone that can last a whole day..

The G3 and G4 both have very clever software modifications to help improve battery life. You'll probably get a big more out of the G3 but both can last the whole day as long as you're not a heavy user.

Ever since Lollipop update, my G3 struggles to get 2 hours screen on time. Done a few factory resets and the latest reset, I left no apps on for a few days and and still horrible.

Bummers...your not getting good battery at all...I have an AT&T stock LGG3 and I normally get 4 1/2 on screen time. Which model is your Lg3?

I only got 2.5 hrs. Tried several factory resets and got lg to replace battery in June but still the same. No apps eating the battery, looked to be the android OS. Lg blamed Google but they failed to release an update. I was in 5.01.
I am now trying a nexus 6. Same apps and get 4 hrs SOT and have the brightness higher.
The g3 would be great if lg sorted the OS.
And I can't root / flash as its a company provided/ connected handset.

From a VZW rep, the speed was increased but is causing an issue with the processor overrunning and causing horrible battery life. They said they are waiting for LG to release a new software.

Pity, as I actually happen to enjoy LG phones and to an extent their software. They do some clever stuff. I feel like they focus more on living room devices like TV's then smartphones.

What is your brightness set at? That will make a huge difference in screen on time if set low vs set to high.

Mine is a D855.

I had screen brightness set low. 30% and auto off.

I also tried 0% auto on and finally with lux auto brightness installed.

Didn't make much difference.

I'm thinking the SOT as everything to do with if your in a strong signal area or in a weak area most of the time...I've seen on the forums a wide range on SOT for this phone ...if the phone is always trying to look for a better signal that is causing the bad battery life.?

With brightness level I adjust ...but I am inside most out the day and then you know at night not much brightness use needed...I also don't do any gaming...maybe my use leads to good SOT?...if you're out and about all day I would guess the SOT wouldn't be so good.

Hi. Understand but i use a different phone (nexus 6) same locations and apps and it gives me nearly 2 hours of extra SOT

Compared to KK, I was getting 4 hours SOT with the same settings except newer apps. The only thing that changes now with LP is I shut off wifi and Bluetooth to help me get a little bit more juice.

Today I went from 100% to 30% in 5 hours with 40 mins screen on time with good LTE signal. I did very light texting (20 text messages) and 5-10 mins of web browsing to look at my news and that's it. Light social media.

Gosh... I guess it's just the phone? I guess some phones just have a bug that eats the juice and is hard to nail down what's causing it. They would drive me crazy to...
