Thinking about getting Atrix, Motorola's lack of updates

Motorola always says : ( I can't remember it exactly)
Buy a phone for what it is & what software is on it , don't count on it being updated in the future ...
lf you keep track of Motorola's updates :

- The OG Droid got updated from 2.0 to 2.1 to 2.2 (got Fro-Yo right after the Evo , which was the first to get it after the Nexus one) , plus all the maintaince updates it got , most recent one was yesterday I gusss

- The Droid X got 2.2 & 2.3 got leaked , which means they are working on it

- Both Droid 2 & Droid Pro got maintaince updates

- The MileStone was the first phone to get 2.1 , & they are getting 2.2 as we speak , better late than never

- The Defy got an update last month

- The FlipOut is getting an update as we speak

- The Cliq got updated to 2.1 from 1.6 (although to Dext didn't get it)

- they already said that the Atrix will get update to unlock the full HD recording soon & I think they said it will get updated , maybe to 2.4 when it comes out

Although their update policy need to be fixed , but (in the famous words of Jermmy Clarckson) : It could've been worse

Call me an optimist but I believe Motorola will continue to support the Atrix for a while . Hear me out, their CEO has come out and publicly stated they will be adding Atrix features include webtop support into all of their high end phones. Unlike some of their previous models where they were still trying to found a way to differentiate itself from all the other Android phones. They seems to have found it in the Atrix.

But we should learn more after CTIA next week, their announcements should provide us with some clues on their future plans.

Just my opinion
