Thinking about getting this

But one of the reviews warns of the magnetic flap screwing with the phone. Is this possible? Anyone have any insight. Probably is a dumb question, but I want to be safe

I have used cases with magnetic closure flaps on Samsung Omnia, Samsung Fascinate, and now GNex. Never had a problem with any of them.

I read some speculation elsewhere on a pre release review of the Nexus that a magnetic cover would screw up the NFC reception. Sorry, can't find the link right now to that article, but Wiki on NFC covers the subject, I think,... " As with proximity card technology, near-field communication uses magnetic induction between two loop antennas located within each other's near field, effectively forming an air-core transformer."

Doesn't most NFC transactions still require phone interaction though, so it would not be in the case at time of need?

I have used cases with magnetic flaps and would like to again. How can I tell if the cases is messing with the nfc?

If you hit this link you can see the the convo I had with 3 different Samsung rep. the 1st said not to use them but the second 2 said the 1st was mistaken and they are perfectly fine to use and won't cause any harm to any part of the hardware including NFC chip.

Interesting, two of the magnetic cases at the mall kiosk would not close on my Nexus when it was on! The magnet clasp was repelled! I wonder if this was just a freak co-incidence?
