I have been debating about going to Boost! I have had Sprint for 6 years now and I love it. It's the cheapest around "on contract" but I have been thinking about going to Boost $55 a month and it goes down to $30 sounds good???? My only problem is I always buy the top of the line phone on sprint, and boost has no really high end phone that's the only thing holding me back. But I would love to save some money. But I could upgrade and buy the high end phone for $200 or would I go to Boost and pay $280 for there low endish phone! And save money monthly???? Help me decide!! Please!

Stay with your current carrier. Just my opinion I love the high end phones and wouldn't sacrifice that option to save 10 to 20 bucks on your monthly plan.

They still use Sprint's network, but you apparently get roaming access, can get a bit better phone than Boost, and depending on your usage, it could be even cheaper.

I have boost and I have a samsung galaxy prevail.boost has stepped its game up I get unlimited calls text web email and they offer a shrinkage plan so everytime u make a payment on time not even consistantly just as long as it adds to 6mnths they take 5 dollars off your bill I started at 55 a month now I pay 45 think about it

I dumped att and went with boost mobile and love it sofar decent speed on internet when i use it unlimited text calling and web for $55 a month is pretty good yet i have the shrinkage that will bring it down to $45 a month, im using the lg marquee phone its pretty good decent speed/battery life i recommend it.

I have boost now. Formerly with Sprint. Same sucky 3g speeds. However, boost is getting the evo 4g design and 4g wimax access. Prepaid is getting better phones.

Was with Boost for a while, but had sorry signal in my apartment. Went to MetroPCS 4g with the Esteem, & that baby rocks!!! Good strong signal, & fast internet too. Of course, I did root my phone & got rid of all the bloatware, & overclocking is working great.

i have Boost now and hate it. lose signal and drop calls all the time. i am actually debating going to Straight Talk and getting the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim which is running of the Verizon Network.

i am also tired of getting hit for ecommernce purchases when i have not bought anything. i have called them and told them to block all purchases from the phone but i have to keep calling and yelling to get refunded.

Im on boostmobile went frm bbs to android 55dolla unlimited everything this my 2nd droid motorola xprt. I like their plans fones r alot better.id like to see more about xprt its a great fone limited edition.Boost is best prepay ive seen i searched

I would even look at Strait talk or Red Pocket prepaid. You can get much better GSM top of the line phones on BYOD plans. Google them an see what you think. Strait talk can use either Tmo OR ATT phones. Red Pocket can also if you change the APN settings.

Just get your self a Gnex (GSM) and go prepaid IMO!

U don't have to go GSM with Straight Talk. They offer service through Sprint and Verizon too, so u could activate ur Sprint phone, but only with 3g. Going GSM would be good though cuz at least u can get hspa+ data speeds (not LTE). I would do what cgardner said and get an unlocked GSM Gnex or something equivalent because its nice to not be tied to one carrier's phones like Boost. Keep ur Sprint phone as a backup if u got the cash. Here's a good read on all the top prepaid carriers: http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2011/02/best-prepaid-data-carriers-and-plans.html?m=1

But to my understanding you can not use a Verizon/Sprint branded phone on Strait Talk. They do offer them for service with phones that are bought through them with the Strait Talk logo. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is how it works. Where with GSM it does not matter. They offer both SIMs for Tmo and att. There for any of their phones work fine right out of the box.

Actually I just read through that site I linked to a little more, and you're right. I've never used their service. I just figured it was byod for any of their services. So OP, listen to cgarnder, lol. It looks like if u really want to keep ur phone, u could go with a prepaid carrier like Cricket or Platinumtel, both Sprint MVNO's that do BYOD. Another option is Pageplus. They're a Verizon MVNO, but Sprint phones can be flashed to their network. U just have to be without ur phone for a few days cuz u have to send it in by mail, and again its only 3g. Not really doable unless u have a backup. I have Pageplus on my wife's Dinc2 and we've been really happy with their service so far. If u want decent data speeds I would go GSM on Straighttalk, but if u travel and need a phone for business that works everywhere, Pageplus is a good option. Rambling over.

i just swtched a few days ago. i gotthe hydro. awesome. happy so far.now i just have to sell my iphone 4s and epic 4g touich.lol

I am thinking of going to Boost, but main question is can I buy downloads, apps from android store, or am I limited to buying them from Boost and what they offer?
thanks

You can buy apps from the Google store yes. Unless the phone is locked down. So I would figures out what phone you want and go from there. Again GSM phones do give you more choices. otherwise go to their web site to see what phones you can pick from. Google Play Store should be on all Android phones as far I know.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it
