Thinking about rooting my phone...

do any of you know anything about kernels? i just discovered Hydra Kernels - Home Page. i am interested in the undervolted stock kernel. could anyone give me their input on this. thanks

There are instructions on how to re root your Inc after manually installing the Nov 17th OTA. I was rooted, manually installed the update, reinstalled clockwork and then reinstaled Superuser. I checked and double checked and I am def rooted. The whole process took about 15 minutes including phone reboots. UnRevoked just released the new version to root after the OTA.

I don't think the new version of unrevoked has been released yet

As far as I know, unrevoked has NOT released their update yet. If you have the update, downgrade and then root with Unrevoked. I never applied the update and rooted shortly before the OTA came out.

With Kernels, just be sure that whatever ROM you choose is capable of using that Kernel. I don't like to experiment a whole lot and just stick with the Kernel the ROM builder recommends or builds into the ROM. I know some ROM are not for use with HYDRA kernels, and I don't think you're supposed to use SETPCU with a Hydra kernel. Make sure you read up on what you are mixing, that's all.

Take the time to research downgrading, and then Rooting. I highly recommend it, or just be patient and wait for Unrevoked to release their fix. From what I have read, they have a patch, but it is still being tested before they release it.
