Thinking of getting juice defender but I have a question

For anyone who may use this program can you answer a quick question for me? Can I control what apps are allowed to use data? For example I have a game like Dice with Buddies. I can not turn off or control when it looks for updates/new games. I'd like it to only search when I open the app. Could juice defender allow me to stop that without disabling the app? Maybe stick it on a 8 hour timer or something like that? Just wondering

Thanks.

On unrooted phones you can only disable background data for all apps together.
On a rooted one, you can put a firewall and control which apps access what.

Are you talking about with JD? So with an unrooted phone it will only cut off ALL data? Not per app?

I believe you can. I tried juice defender awhile ago.. Even paid for it.. Saw no benefit for battery really and all it did was cut off data so my push services didn't work.

Thanks for the reply! I might just buy it to try it out. It seems like a lot of people live by it. I'm hoping to get some feed back from people who use it with the HTC One. Cutting off data is ok by me wit certain apps.
