Agreed, I think it is harder (for me at least) to justify the extra money. I had the exynos s7 and day to day the Honor 8 feels just as fast and capable. The s7 has a better camera, water resistance and a better screen, but imo not £200+ better!

I love mine. Battery life is tremendous and you really can't get a better phone for the price. However, my favorite quality is the overall size. 5.5 inch screens have too big a footprint and I find too difficult to use w one hand. At 5.2 inches and slim bezels, this phone is just the right size for me.

This is a really good phone.

It's actually prevented me from buying other devices that I thought I might like better.
The honor 8 has set a bar for me in price, form and function that something else may have a tough time beating in the short term.
Looks like I'll be sticking around for a while.

I'd be so unhappy with an 800 dollar clunker.

The most that i spent on a phone was the iPhone 7 Plus 128gb for $420 on contract. Though i could have gotten the base model under $400

For the money is the is a great purchase. Especially with the Black Friday sales. $299 in the US £299 in the UK


Regular updates (Beta 7 is already out and should be available to the general public soon)
Battery (Easy 4 hours screen on time)
Good Fast charging (Proprietary brick however)
IR Blaster (TV remote)
NFC
Camera (Good for the price point, but its not top end. You just need to work a little to get a good shot in low light)
EMUI is a little different but no deal breaker.

At the 299 price point nothing comes close.
