Thinking of HTC U11.

I'm pretty into the HTC U11 phone at the moment, and don't know if I will get it or not. It having to be purchased from their website instead of Verizon is a let down, since I would have to pay it all then instead of monthly like the V20 which is from Verizon. The chances of switching are low, I just need your opinions. Thanks

HTC had been a disappointment since they removed the headphone jack. The last impressive phone was the HTC 10 and M8. There's absolutely nothing great about it, and there's so much better choices out there. Unless you're a die hard fan, I wouldn't. I'd rather get an S7 Edge which also has a 5.5 inch, front fps, a good low-light camera, AMOLED screen, and probably much cheaper now. It could also do VR if you're into that.

I had the lg v10 and was pretty disappointed with it overall. Battery life not great, screen pretty dull, and just way to bulky. I'm hoping that the v30 is going to be really nice. I won't consider it unless it has the quad dacs though. After I got rid of the v10, I bought a ZTE axon 7 as soon as it came out and truthfully, it blew the v10 away in every respect. So I hope that the v30 incorporates everything in it.

Thank you, I was actually deciding between the galaxy s7's and s8's as well, but they are WAY too fragile for me, as I drop my V20 a lot as is. I like VR, I tried it out and all, but it isn't really a feature I need or want much at all. I love photography, so seeing that the U11 has the highest camera rating for DxOMark ever, I thought that was a thing that I would want the most. I know the U11 is made of glass, but it doesn't have those curves like the s8's. The only let down would be losing the headphones jack, but it at least has a Type C to 3.Tim dongle, that also incorporates a DAC.

I'm thinking of the U11 also. Before my V10 and V20 all my phones were HTC. I loved my M8 but cameras were always the Achilles heel of HTC. Now after last year's 10 and now the U11 seems like they've finally gotten the camera right. Of course I'm not a fan of an all glass design, but seems to be the latest trend.
Don't get me wrong, love my V20, but thinking of selling my old M7, M8, and V10 and putting those funds towards a U11. I don't think I'd get much for those 3 phones, but would be something. The other thing I like is that HTC stuck with the 16:9 aspect ratio. I'm not a fan of the 18:9 ratio the S8 and G6 have adopted.

HTC U11, maybe even the HTC U Ultra especially with a price drop in a few weeks. Camera seems even better in the U Ultra and that's important to me.

Hello! I too am thinking of getting the HTC U11 in a few months' time. I agree with you - paying all that money upfront is definitely not super appealing, but at least it'll all be paid off at once and you won't have to worry about it again! I bought my Honor 8 unlocked and I have to say, it was a very refreshing experience to not be tied to a carrier's billing period. Let us know what you decide!

To each their own ?!

The U11 does more than make me " tingle " when I see it especially in Sapphire Blue

Of course to each their own. In your case though, you swap phones every few months so we can't go by how it makes you tingle.

The V30 will be a very sweet device, indeed!

With a 5.8 4k amoled display, flush dual rear 21 megapixel camera, dual front 11 megapixal cameras with a larger sensor, a 4000 plus battery, and an improved DAC what's not to like?

Wow, I didn't know it was going to have dual cameras! Awesome beans! That sounds like a beast of a device.

If they actually did that I would upgrade from my trusty V20 on launch day.

I will, but it will probably be a months time from now, to see how the phone fairs and wait for a price reduction, possibly.

Here it is, sadly it doesn't, but jump dual cameras would still be nice
