Thinking of new MacBook 12 to replace my np12.2.

Looking at the new MacBook 12 and think it would work well in place of my Samsung np12.2. I do lots of cad drawings and the MacBook would be stronger in that usage but I like the versatility of touchcad on the np12.2 other than file conversion. All of the other apps I use can also be found for Mac so that isn't a big concern either. Any opinions?

It really boils down to what you want to do. You're looking at two very different beasts: A laptop computer with a full-fledged OS VS a Stylus-powered tablet with a mobile OS.

I guess the main question would be: Will you miss the S-Pen? Then ask if you'd find the always-attached keyboard a nuisance. And then ponder about what would it be like if you couldn't touch the screen anymore.

Well, i know there is this CAD360 app for android that works well with the note. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=com.autodesk.autocadws&token=fHnpT40V

I personally have my note set up with a wireless keyboard and the Samsung mouse with the specialized functions... and I think the processor is probably comparable to the new macbook.

And I really think the Surface pro looks more refined with every generatiin, and has a pen and touch screen. But there is no doubt in my mind that apple makes the best laptops. That said, I think it is the consensus that the new macbook is seriously lacking in power, and the pro is what you'd really want.

To be honest, I don't see the Macbook doing exceptionally better with CAD either. Weakish processor that is not really meant for productivity tasks...or only the very most basic ones. Give yourself a 13" Macbook Pro. You will then be appropriately armed for said task in my unsolicited and uncaffeinated opinion.
