Just had an odd bug on my brand new A100. I left it on the charger overnight, but this morning as soon as I took it off the charger it beeped at me saying the charge was low. I looked at the battery meter and saw it was at 3%. I put it back on the charger, which the tab recognized and said it was charging. I thought maybe I just didn't get it plugged in good overnight and had run down.
However, after a few hours on the charger, it still showed just 3% charge. I tried everything to isolate the problem. I switched outlets, I power cycled, I did a complete factory reset, nothing worked. Also, power light would flash orange.
I just got on Acer Tech Chat and in the process of asking me questions to get started, they asked for the number on the charger. I was going to have to unplug the charger to find it, so I turned of the Acer first (I didn't want it to run out of battery power in the process). I gave the number, plugged the charger back up and turned the tab back on. I noticed the orange light wasn't blinking anymore, and the blue light was on. So, I look at the battery guage and it says 100%.
From what I can tell, everything is back to normal. Can anyone help me with what could have been the problem and whether it will happen again? Santa Clause is giving this as gift to my son and if it is, or is going to be, a dud, I want to exchange it now before Christmas. There is almost zero stock for the A100 in my area, but I do have one on hold at a BB about an hour away in case this one couldn't be fixed back tech support.
