I recently made the jump to the Huawei P40 Pro and I am loving it. I am sure not everyone is the same as I am, since I almost enjoy the challenge of using as few Google services as possible.

I have always downloaded apks for my phones which were not available on the play store e.g. YouTube vanced, and banking apps from different countries (moved to the UK a while back, but still hold banking in other countries, which were not available on the play store due to it being a different version). Also always preferred the third party apps like RedditIsFun and Fenix for Twitter for their respective platforms.

Now with Huawei's new tool for apps, Petal Search it's been made really easy to find all those apps, but it still sometimes is not enough sometimes. So I was wondering, where is everyone else getting their "third-party" apps.

its good to hear you are enjoying it, ive just posted on here asking what actually is GMS as im finding it hard to understand why everyones going crazy over Huawei? Im looking forward to reading responses from other android central users, if you have a few mins check it out

for me petal search has been my main source of 'app income', you and i have had many a conversation on threads about the ins and outs about the new world of apps. I recently, however, purchased a matepad pro and wanted to play COD on it. to download it used aptoide from a recommendation on a previous thread and its as good as anything else!!

Amazons app store has a few gems such as minecraft which you cant get seemingly anywhere else and you know its a safe source!

ive downloaded a few apps directly from the sources website, depends what youre looking for really

That's a great shout, I hae totally forgotten about them. I used to use it a few thinga back when I had the OP2. Does it auto-update the apps?

Do you find any use for the stylus or is it just something that's made it more expensive?

I normslly use APK Pure but it can sometimes throw up a non working app like Disney Plus. I try and go to Amazon, and Petal Search first

Cheers, I downloaded Amazon's app store as well, had no idea they had so many things there.

Third party apps makes it sound illegitimate but I know for a fact through petal search they do 4 steps of security when they download the Apk from the original source.

So I'd just use Petal search 👌
