Android Central Question

I have Verizon for 4 years I had Verizon directly like paid Verizon directly had their service I got so mad at them that I got rid of them and went to straight talk which is also Verizon. And I've never ever had good speeds in the house that I'm in and I'm in the middle of town just don't have it. I've reported I've made reports that number is that everything I can think of and nothing changes look at these results and this is average this is about what it usually is all the time
Forgive me I don't see the option to add a picture so I'll just tell you what it is

Download 10.1 not kidding upload .72 it's a joke it's ridiculous Verizon's a joke ridiculous I'm in the middle of town I'm a mile point 2 from their corporate office it's ridiculous

So you think a good portion of your problems are maybe about a dead zone in coverage around where you live? Questions/issues aside about different phones and apps, you think you have good speeds/throughput when you are in a different area of the city?

I'm not sure. I would have to run a speed test and see. I honestly don't use it much away from home other than for my music and that's all downloaded.
Here's an example of the WiFi issue. I have full signal, but it tells me I'm possibly in airplane mode. This has happened quite a few times. I do understand it has nothing to do with period conversation regarding towers. But the issues just continueScreenshot_20220503-152956_Lowe's.jpg

Try installing this OpenSignal app:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ase3.opensignal&hl=en_US&gl=US&token=Cvruksfi
It's primarily a speed test utility but it also includes a handy mapping feature where you can locate nearby cell towers and see coverage range for the major carriers. The accumulated data is crowd-sourced so the good part is you get actual usage info (not marketing babble from the carriers) but the bad part if you live in more remote area it's a lot less useful (not enough data to analyze and process).
Perhaps Verizon just doesn't want to invest in supporting your vicinity. The big carriers are very territorial and opt to isolate their cellular networks from each other so hopefully a different carrier will have better coverage in your locale. Straight Talk has contracts with AT&T, T-Mobile, along with Verizon so switching is more or less just a matter of contacting them about your choice so they can send you a new SIM card.

Who is your internet provider? Your screenshots show that you're connected to WiFi not data. This does not seem to be a problem with your data signal, Verizon or your phones but with your internet. Possibly it's your router/modem needs to be updated or is faulty. Especially given that you've repeatedly had the same problem with several phones.

I'm in the middle of town it's a big town it's a busy town very populated I'm less than 2 mi from the corporate office. I wouldn't say that my Wi-Fi isn't ever affected because I have full bars but yet it won't connect and tells me that I should check my airplane mode so it's something within the phone as far as signals go with the carrier it's probably just a dead spot where I'm at but there's something wrong with my phone without questionScreenshot_20220503-152956_Lowe's.jpgScreenshot_20220503-153503.jpgScreenshot_20220503-213314_Chrome.jpg

Just the internet I've had two different internet companies everybody's I don't even know what to say I don't know what to say I don't know what to say yesterday I called Samsung and they asked me to do an all settings reset and the phone's worse now so I think it's within the phone

My internet is brand new it's from frontier and fine if you look at any screenshots that I sent you can see that there's full signal the speeds are great with the internet

Unlike your phone signal with the bars, your WiFi signal icon only shows whether WiFi is on or not and the arrows underneath will show when it's busy. That icon does not show how strong your WiFi signal is.

This exactly!!! The OP refuses to take anyone's advice and try anything we suggest, they just keep complaining without actually doing anything about it. On their other thread I suggested using ookla speed test in the browser to check their home wi-fi... my suggestion was completely ignored. Someone above suggested trying the open signal app, completely ignored. I'm sure you're suggestion will be completely ignored, just like every other helpful post in both the threads this OP started.

Since they're not trying ANY of the suggestions given by anyone, I'm guessing they just want to vent their frustrations and complain, which is okay to a point, but when they say the same thing over and over in 2 threads perpetually, while many people are taking the time to try and help, it starts getting a little annoying :-\

You are wrong. As previously stated I've been dealing with this. I've tried everything. Except the open signal which was not ignored it wasn't seen. Don't make assumptions please. I've answered every message I've seen. And if I missed something along the way it's definitely not intentional. Have a great day.
And I did not know that about the signal bars for Wi-Fi. No one's ever mentioned before. As I have mentioned in not that tech inclined obviously. So my "op " skills aren't too notch.
I have already done does tests. Iced l I've mentioned it multiple times and have the results. I've also posted pictures.
Again don't make assumptions. You have no idea a persons frustrations. I've been on the phone with Samsung..I did everything they said and it made the phone worse. Then they said we can't help you. Now I can't get into many of my accounts. I mean password wrong. Then I send out for a new recent link go to the reset link and it keeps telling me that they don't match my passwords don't match they don't match they don't match now I can't even get into my accounts which is why I'm on my second AC form account hopefully they deleted the other one by now I can't get into my frontier account I'm not sure what the next one's going to be so suggestions trust me are taken so far nothing's helps and the one thing has made things worse. Again don't make assumptions you have no idea
I've now done your porch signal "suggestion" cause no I haven't done this particular one. ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. KEEP IN MIND I'M DEALING WITH THIS FOR A WHILE SO MANY SUGGESTIONS HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE.
It's 5:30 in the morning so these were taken inside View attachment 344519View attachment 344520View attachment 344521

On my phone, the WiFi bars icon has the ability to represent WiFi signal strength, showing more or less bars (similar to the cell signal bars) depending on how good or bad the signal is between the phone and the WiFi transmitter/receiver.

So.... are we trying to improve the Verizon or your current carrier's data signal strength?

Why not turn off wifi and turn on Mobile Data / Data or whatever its termed.

Run the speed test as mentioned, I personally now run www.Fast.com in a web browser like Chrome, or Samsung"s browser (Samsung Internet?)

Why not send a screenshot of the download speed when it's finished, with the data symbol on the screen?

Has somebody mentioned going in to Connections / SIM card settings (other) - sim card (name) - Preferred Network Type (or similar) - and swap between 5G and 4G?

No no one had mentioned the switch.. That I've noticed
I have done two different speed tests I've done ookla and I've done open signal and I've done them with Wi-Fi without Wi-Fi and I've posted the pictures but I will do so again. The first four are from open signal two are from 5:30 this morning all inside and the other two are from 8:00 this morning all inside. I said I can't remember who that's from maybe go I don't know but those are also inside
And I honestly don't know what I'm trying to accomplish at this point after this morning's found events. I found not one but two viruses one I've carried over from phone to phone since they end up 20/20 I wonder I've had issues with all my phones the new one came on my new phone from Samsung amazing so they're pretty installed apps do mess up your phone without question and I'm posting two more from the fast.com at your request

Thank you! I felt that was how it would work on my new ultra s22. And in fact I have watched the signal bars change as I'm leaving the house and pulling out of the range!

Thanks for giving us some actual numbers to go by to help you out ;) Overall your home wi-fi speeds look awesome... you have one low reading but that could have been the location in the house where you were at. But your cellular data speeds are horrendous.. since you've only used Verizon and TracFone, which is owned by Verizon and uses their same towers, and tried 3 Samsungs on their network, it looks like Verizons not the best provider coverage wise for your area.

I would suggest trying T-Mobile or AT&T, or one of their MVNO's. Mint Mobile runs off the T-Mobile network and has good prices. There are a bunch of MVNO'S to pick from with both those carriers. A little internet research should give you a good idea of which carrier is best in your area :p

Thank you and I agree. After speaking with neighbors the only positive feedback comes from att.
It's so sad about Verizon because I'm smack in the middle of a busy town and only a mile and a half from their corporate office. I've sent so many signal reports and Data info "to better improve their service" blah blah blah... Lol nothing changes.

While I'm on the subject of Verizon... For anyone who may have Verizon or one of their spin offs , as I do, like TracFone/straightalk... If you're experiencing lag or increased data delete they're digital secure app and just watch the huge difference in your phone. You don't need it anyway, if you have Knox or Google.

Mine is like it should be now.... A new s22 Ultra... Lol woohoo

I have gone thru the process of switching to at&t. Just waiting on the SIM... Tomorrow I believe, if all goes as planned without a hitch. Can't wait! I've learned so much over the past week or so. Can't believe, wait yes I can... How not great Verizon truly has become. I just thought it was my luck. I'll know for sure in a day or two.

Honestly, that switch over, was he**. I won't bore you with the details... But several days and 2 SIM cards later and multiple in store visits and even far more phone calls to AT&T cs.... Phew... I finally have a fully working well S 22 Ultra. I'm not so sure about those upload speeds but the rest is amazing in comparison. And I believe the culprit for my glitching screen was my gboard app. So I uninstalled, then powered down the phone. Waited30 secs and back on. Phone didn't glitch. Reinstalled gboard and it all seems good. I'm so happy. Than you everyone for the help suggestions and patience with me!
