Hey everyone, newb here.

First of all I dig this phone. I have owned an OGDroid, Droid X, EVO 4g(with 3g speed), and now coming off the iPhone 4 and 4s. BTW, I like both platforms and just love new technology.

But, is VZW for real? I am getting 30mbs dl's and 17-18 ul's at home(evening usually 5pm on) and lows during the day at work are somewhere between 15-18mbs. That just blows me away.

all I can say is I love this phone and love the speed big red is pumping out.

I also can't figure out everyones battery issues. I am getting full days out of mine with, well, moderate use.

anyway, thanks for this forum. It helped me make the jump.

I was the same when I had the dx. I saw the thunderbolt in a Verizon store and tested speed test and got blown away with 15 mbps download. I was like wtf? I tried again and again and kept getting 10-20 times 3g speeds. Most I ever had with dx was about 1.5 mbps. So I bought the tbolt. And I've gotten up to 42 mbps

What do you think about the iPhone's screen and camera compared to the Razr's? I'm on an iPhone now and thinking of switching to a Razr, but I'm curious about that. I actually started a thread on that earlier today.

Thanks!

I had the iPhone 4S and wasn't that impressed wither camera. Don't get me wrong, the camera is good. But it wasn't the best camera on a phone that it was touted to be. The screen on the iPhone is nice too but it is just a tad small. I think that the camera in my Rezound is better than the iPhone.

To answer the OP, I think the download speeds are impressive. But I haven't seen too much where it makes such a huge difference. I downloaded about 50 songs and it too a few minutes. But the speed test said that I was getting 15 mbps down. So it should have downloaded whose songs a lot faster right? Same thing with apps.

i agree the phone is amazing. I have to wonder if the people having battery issues are using motocast.I was getting awful battery life untill I decided I wanted to get rid of motocast.

It could have been hindered by the hosts connection.

Haha yeah, I've become so addicted to 4g that I never even connect to my "slow" 16 mbps cable connection.

I've always had good luck with Verizon data in Minneapolis. Even my old incredible used to get between 1.6 and 2.1 mbps routinely on 3g, which I was told was impossible for the technology.

I use motocast and am extremely impressed with the battery. I disabled the sync feature though, I only need it to stream.

I like both. To me it is like comparing a plasma and an LED tv. The blacks are much better on the Razr, but the clarity is much better on the iPhone. Its hard to beat that screen size on the Razr.

as for the camera, I think apple was winning that battle even with the 5mp on the iPhone 4.

you may be right on the motocast and the battery. I haven't even touched that yet.

Agreed, the camera is a disappointment. My DROID incredible even had a better camera than my RAZR and that phone is ancient.

I think MOTO needs to get on the dual flash bandwagon. That'd help quite a bit with high ISO noise.
