News This is why it's important to charge your phone the right way, especially when you're not home

Good news is Samsung made Charging the default mode instead of MTP. Whether it can and will be exploited is to be seen but it's a good move especially for the dingbats that use public USB charging stations, cables, ports.

I assume you mean 7.
Dunno, found it in the OneUi change somewhere in the Beta, can't remember where now
Yes in Android 16 beta One UI 8
Was a notice , didn't remember if it was in one UI 7

Using one cable to charge also reduces the chance of the USB-C port getting deformed to a the point of creating a loose connection.

My two previous mobile phones (OP 8T and S23+) both got finicky about charging with certain cables (after a year or so of use).
Good point

Not doubting you but how so? Best case it still allows data access if it got damaged but won't help for charging. That's provided cable manufactures don't just span board even if not padded across all the devices pads.
My guess you're just got dirty like how the NES pins used to get dirty in the console from games and then the games dirty from the console.

Everyone has different experiences but I don't think I've ever had a port go bad just the cables.

Never noticed. I came from the S23U which didn't have 7 yet straight to the S25U that came with 8, never really checked the changelog because I was too distracted by how bad OneUI7 was.
