I'm surprised because I'm coming from a galaxy S9 (that I only sold to order the upcoming iPhone XS and this Moto G6 is an in between device) and this Moto G6 has much better battery life than the S9. Very surprised.

The Motorola has an IPS display, the Samsung has an AMOLED display. Unless you keep the brightness on an AMOLED way down it eats battery like crazy.

Yeah I agree. Wanted to wait a bit before I really commented on battery life, but now after two months of using the phone I can safely say the battery life on the g6 is phenomenal. I've owned the g3, the 4plus,and now the 6 and it looks like out of all my moto gs the 6 has the best battery life. Seems like the SD450 chip they're using is very fine tuned for efficiency.

I don't really see the good battery life on my G6. I use my phone for work and generally go to 2 business locations and take about 10 photos at each location plus do an online report with 10-12 questions which involve uploading said photos and a bit of text concerning the photos. My phone will be at about 9-10% battery at the end of the day if I don't charge it in the car while travelling.

I was wondering about the battery life on the G6. My wife's G5 Plus had excellent battery life. The best of any phone we've owned. Is that something that is expected with Motorola's G series?

It's pretty crazy. A53 cores in full force here. I regularly end the day with half battery.

So far it's not near as good as my z play droid was but not bad either.

I can see this being a concern. I have a Z Play Droid and my wife a G6. No comparison when new, but my Z Play battery is shot, forcing me to get something new.

I was going to hold out for the G7, but read it doesn't have NFC as the G6 as well, so I'm getting an X4.

I know I'm going to lose battery capacity.

Yep I'm missing that battery life. I don't use NFC so not a concern for me yet. Hope you like the X4

Actually, as someone who also recently purchased the G6, I was kind of thinking the opposite. With VERY light usage (partially to test it) after charging it to 100%, I find I lose about 20% over a 24-hour period. I was hoping for better than that. Does this amount of usage sound normal to any of you? Thank you.

You mean with no usage?

Well, I would say with very light usage (intentionally just to test it). No phone calls, very limited web browsing, etc.

I've never checked how much mine will drop with little usage as I'm always using it lol.
