This phone is so much more prone to micro scratches

I came here to get info on this, to know if it was only the first batch or something.

What strikes me as odd is that, in the JerryRigEverything video, the scratch levels is on par with Gorilla Glass 4 (the Google Pixel for example). Level 5 mohs picks don't scratch it in his test.

Thanks for the info on the JerryRigEverything videos. I had seen other scratch tests but this guy actually has a consistent scientific method of testing for scratches using different known hardness tools to scratch the screen.

I think everyone understood your point. My point is that I've had this phone since launch, put it in and out of my pocket constantly, toss it on my table or couch or bed or in the center cubby in my car with other crap in it without a second thought. I've even sat on it a few times accidentally and dropped it a few times. Not a single scratch ding or dent to speak of. So, you need to figure out what your phone is coming in contact with, either in your pocket or wherever, because it's not "more prone to scratches" in comparison to any other Samsung I've had in the past. And I've had them all. On the contrary; it actually seems to be more resistant to scratches and the like, compared to most other phones I've owned... and I've owned quite a bit. So you may believe you're not doing anything different with this phone compared to your previous phones, but I think maybe there's a chance you are, or it's come in contact with something that scratched it up without you realizing it. Things happen. That doesn't automatically mean the gorilla glass on this phone is inferior.
You seem a little hostile about your perfect phone.
Other people also have a sufficient IQ to think through whether they're doing something different. In my case, i've done nothing different than with my previous phones. Even same jeans, washed as regularly as before. Either I've got an early batch of Gorilla glass on mine, or you have a better batch. Either way...it's definitely more scratch prone than ALL of my previous Samsungs, going back to the original S.

I just went to Walmart and found a pretty good screen protector by ONN. It was 9.99. It's not tempered glass which I didn't want for this phone anyway. It's like a liquid skin and it fits perfectly. Best protector I've found for the money so far.

Having sifted through this forum and others concerning this topic my conclusion is that Samsung must have used substandard Gorilla Glass on some production runs. It would be interesting to gather the manufacturing dates on the phones with scratches and see if there is any date correlation.

I have seen friend that get micro scratches on his screen on the 2nd day of usage
I always keep a screen protector on all my phones. Including this S8. I don't want scratches on my screen especially for resell. I want my phone to stay looking brand new. I also use a back skin to protect it from back scratches. I don't use a case and it helps with the grip. I like a slim feeling phone and a case just bulks it up too much. Here is my skin.

Here is the screen protector I bought. I was able to get Walmart to sell it to me for 4.87 but it's regular 9.99. It's a very good screen protector. Somewhat thicker but like a liquid skin type. Works perfectly. For the money I highly recommend it.

Not hostile in the slightest. Unless there's definitive proof as to these mysterious "different batches" of gorilla glass used for this one phone, then I'll just stick with my original point. Your phone is coming into contact with things that are able to scratch it. Mine isn't. Simple.

It's not something Samsung could know. Corning just supplies them. If so, blame is on Corning.

Could it be the curved screen? Because I have the same issue and this is my first curved screen phone.

Yeah but could you be more of a **** about it?
