This watch gets very, very hot in the sun

I've had my Moto for about 4 weeks now. Yesterday I was at the Rose Bowl watching a football game and it was pretty much facing the sun for about 4 hours while sitting in my seat. It wasn't a particularly hot day, about 88 midway through the game, but the face side of the watch got hot. Very hot. Almost too hot to touch. I'm wondering if what this kind of heat does to the watch. Should I be careful about this and turn it around when out in the sun?

That does not sound good. Hopefully this is an isolated problem.

I don't think it's an isolated problem but more related to physics. A black watch face facing the sun will absorb a lot of heat.

I meant more along the lines of some watches being more susceptible to heat damage than others :)

Well, I use my Nexus 5 for music sometimes outside, and if I don't specifically attempt to relieve it of some heat from the direct sun, it gets crazy hot as well. Not only is it working playing music, but it's directly in the sun.

I think this is a downside to having a smartwatch versus a watch. It's a mini-computer, technically. You usually don't want your electronics out in direct, hot sunlight for extended periods of time.
