Thought this was funny and interesting.

Very unimpressed. I enjoy iPhone's, but there's nothing there I see that we don't already have. AirDrop is cool, though. But seriously, multitasking previews, toggles, new UI... Nothing life changing, IMHO.

Its does answer my questions as to why almost all my friends iPhone's have 20+ notifications for their App Store. I had no idea there wasn't an auto-update option, that's shocking it took this long.

To be fair its almost impossible to come up with anything 'new' anymore. The multitasking previews, for example, were copied in android, iOS, and BB OS from WebOS. (Which itself was a copy of how OSX handled previews of certain open apps)

This update was more about overhauling the UI and UX than adding any blockbuster features.

Also, based on the fact that you don't think its life changing tells me you haven't spent too much time with iOS. Its old and stale, and this update is very much life changing for those that have used it since the beginning.

Control centre and new notifications are pretty big updates and so is multitasking. This was a major upgrade

I don't have many services here and I switched to Android because I wanted features, all the features I wanted from iOS are now present so why should I stay with a smart phone that has less services then what iOS has? And you will see me less on Ac more on iMore.

Umm ya except you won't see me on iMore so you won't see me if you aren't here.

Apple - iOS 7 - Features

Just read some of those features.
Ya, not seeing anything that Android hasn't had for a while. I can't help but see a new Samsung ad that has a guy standing in line saying "It has a control center that you swipe up from the bottom! MIND BLOWING!". Just compare feature to feature for what Android has been offering for ages and that list looks quite Ho hum.

Control center vs Android notification shade with Widgetsoid or power toggles etc.

Notification center vs tons of different widgets or lock screen notification options.

Multitasking vs um ya we have that.

Camera upgrade vs a zillion apps with tons of options. Camera zoom, camera 360 etc.

Photo Gallery vs too many options

Airdrop vs Beam, Bump, NFC etc. Whateva.

Safari vs Chrome. No contest. Chrome saves everything to my account.

iRadio vs all the rest. Google music will own it. The instant playlist feature alone is now a must have for me. But Songza and Slacker radio do a great job too. Nothing amazing here.

New Siri vs Google Now. No contest. Siri with a new softer voice. Wonder why they did that hmmmm? Now searching Bing. Do people use Bing at all anymore? Maybe they could just get the Google Now app and be happier.

Now and Siri are different products, multitasking better on iPhone now notifications also better, control centre better then the **** google put with "quick toggles" which are mostly just short cuts to the settings app. So no Android actually may have had it before but ios refines the hell out of those features, but what am I kidding this is a pro Android website there, if course are people saying this is a ****ty upgrade
Why download camera apps if stock has it all? There is no point explaining to you guys sorry but I'm out.

I seem to recall Samsung making a big deal out of their shortcuts on the notification shade, so...

Control center vs Android notification shade with Widgetsoid or power toggles etc.

So? Those things existed prior to their implementation on android. No one is arguing they're new, they're saying that they're new to apple and iOS.
Notification center vs tons of different widgets or lock screen notification options.

Who cares about widgets? I mean, seriously. Android is the only os that has them, and android oems themselves have data to support that most people don't use them.

Multitasking vs um ya we have that.

Again, this has nothing to do with them being new. It has to do with it being improved in iOS compared to previous versions, and being 'smart' in how apps update data in the background.

Camera upgrade vs a zillion apps with tons of options. Camera zoom, camera 360 etc.

I'm not sure what point you think you're trying to make. Apple has tons of camera apps too. Those apps still don't change the fact that stock androids camera app sucks.

Photo Gallery vs too many options

Again, doesn't really prove any point. Apple also has a ton of apps that can access your photo gallery. What apple does have now, which stock android doesn't, is more intelligent organization of photos in a way that makes them more relevant for users. (Similar to sense)

Airdrop vs Beam, Bump, NFC etc. Whateva.

Airdrop is a lot less awkward than beam or s beam since the handsets don't need to touch. Otherwise, they're all pretty much the same.

Safari vs Chrome. No contest. Chrome saves everything to my account.

So does safari. That, and safari is just a better, more stable browser.

iRadio vs all the rest. Google music will own it. The instant playlist feature alone is now a must have for me. But Songza and Slacker radio do a great job too. Nothing amazing here.

Actually, apple has an ace up its sleeve with this one: song selection. Google music still doesn't have access to as many tracks as ITunes does. Their implementations a very different anyways. (And personally, I've found google music to be a **** poor replacement for pandora)
New Siri vs Google Now. No contest. Siri with a new softer voice. Wonder why they did that hmmmm? Now searching Bing. Do people use Bing at all anymore? Maybe they could just get the Google Now app and be happier.

Now can't adjust settings on the device like either Siri or S-voice. Tons of people use Bing, and its data is comparable to google in the ways most people use search. Those voice actions alone will make it better than Now.

I've spent my fair amount of time with iPhone's. My point was merely that I, personally, owning a customized Nexus 4, am quite underwhelmed by the update.

In fairness, I entirely agree every feature was much needed and welcomed, and from an iPhone owners standpoints, this must be satisfying indeed.

My comment is only that, from an Android users perspective, this is an underwhelming update as iOS7 still lags behind Android in terms of functionality. That's all.

Not for me, Im going back to iOS.

How they handled the Xbox One. I was ready to preorder and have money stashed away to preorder what games I wanted for the One but now that's flipped to the PS4.

Oh, gotcha. Wasn't sure if you meant the XBone or WP8 or Windows 8 or the Surface.

No, for an iOS user this is a great update both on the look/feel and the features.

The Xbone had some very appealing looking games, but the ecosystem they seem to want to support is insanity form consumer standpoint. Sony's approach is much better on that front:
Official PlayStation Used Game Instructional Video - YouTube

Not for me, Im going back to iOS.

iOS and Mac OS X really look like platforms I might return to.
Justifying, that KLP (or 4.3, whatever they call it), isn't that great.
And let's face it. Its probably going to be amazing.

How is Safari better? You didn't list any advantages. I prefer Chrome because of unlimited tabs and syncing with the desktop version (which is far superior to Safari).

Now and Siri are different products; that's obvious. The differences are that Now gives more information and has better voice recognition? and Siri gives witty responses.

Multitasking, better on iPhone? How exactly? They only just made it real, so now it's essentially on par with Android's. Not better.

Quick toggles are in no way shortcuts to settings. From quick settings, I can toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, and brightness without going to settings. And if you don't like Quick Settings, you can get another app that improves on it and makes it better than both QS and Control Center. You can't do that on iOS.

Why download camera apps if stock has it all? Because stock never has it all, so with third-party camera apps you can make it even better.

It's your choice if you don't want to be open-minded to alternatives, but just know that you're missing out on a better experience.

You really are pushing the idea that a feature is unimportant because only one OS has them. And you haven't done anything to show that that argument has logic.

Airdrop is a lot less awkward than beam or s beam since the handsets don't need to touch. Otherwise, they're all pretty much the same.
You don't need to touch phones to use NFC.

What? As I type this I'm on Google Now settings. And be honest, Bing is a joke compared to Google. You know that "Bing it on" thing MS has? I don't know about you, but I tried that, and my final result was 4 wins for Google, 1 tie, and no wins for Bing.

Maybe he got the idea that quick toggles are simply shortcuts to settings from iMore. I saw it there. Completely false!

Not to mention that iOS is still lacking some Android features, like widgets, multi-user, default app selection, wide range of phones and specs, home screen and lock screen replacements, free app placement on the home screen, hiding apps from the home screen, and so much more.

I'm going to stick with the notion that iOS, despite recent improvements, is still behind Android, and that jailbroken iOS is about on par with unrooted Android (with each having a few features that the other lacks).
