I've been on the fence in getting an Android Wear watch and am curious how everyone here feels about the Connected that you own? Has the screen resolution been an issue? Do you find the lack of a heart rate monitor an issue? I know the Connected has been out for nearly a year, but I haven't seen anything on an update. Does this group feel there will be a significant update coming in the next 3 months?

Thanks,
CycleNC

I don't know anyone with this smartwatch. However, you may take a look at more information here: TAG Heuer Connected | Android Central

Since you are on the fence about a smartwatch, have you considered a different wear device that is less expensive?

Thanks for the link. I have considered other Android Wear watches, but my feel is that if I am going to spend several hundred dollars on a watch, I don't want it to be completely obsolete in 2 years. The Connected at least gives me the opportunity to add to my watch collection without being out several hundred bucks. Maybe I'm over-analyzing things a bit. Maybe I'm just too picky. :)

Buy it if you like Android Wear but must have a Tag Heuer on your wrist.

If you just want an Android Wear watch, buy the cheapest one you can stand with the features you want since they're pretty much disposable. By that I mean they're not long term pieces and the functionality will change drastically year by year because of new hardware being added, higher resolution screens being used, etc.

Also don't forget, the deal with the replacement mechanical watch is that it's an additional $1500 so you're buying a basic mechanical watch for $3000.

Unfortunately I'm not one of the lucky ones who was able to purchase this outright, I had to get mine on finance but I don't regret my purchase one bit. I've owned both the apple watch and other android wear devices and although the functionality can be limited at times compared to the apple watch the connect (imo) is far superior. I mean this thing is beautiful to look at and is very well constructed. Despite being cautious with it, like constantly, there have been a few occasions where I've knocked it on the side of the desk at work yet still there is not a single mark on it, the grade 2 titanium along with the sapphire glass work perfectly together.

The screen resolution has never really bothered me, and honestly I don't see anything wrong with it (to others this seems to be a big deal) the only time I ever really notice it is when taking a cheeky snap of it on my phone where you can some times see the lines/ pixels but certainly not noticeable on a day to day basis.

If you have the funds to purchase one... do it! I'm excited about the upgrade despite not being able to afford it when the time comes but either way I'll be happy to keep this just as a watch for the years to come 😊

I have been very happy with it since purchasing a couple of months ago, it's a high quality purchase, looks incredible and functions really well. Although not fully waterproof I accidentally got in the pool with it on holiday and submerged my wrist for a few seconds before realising, it was fine but probably not recommended! I have been so used to my TAG F1 being completely waterproof!

It's comfortable to wear, bright enough in sunlight and I love the fact that it always shows the time (unlike the iwatch) and then lights up properly when you move your wrist. Battery life is ok and I have got used to charging it when I sleep. It's not a patch on my Pebble for battery life which goes for 5 days.

I use the Connected with iOS so am missing quite a few features and applications which I wish they could bring to Android Wear on iOS as that would complete it for me. Again the Pebble is so app rich which makes it stand out. Also some additional TAG watch faces would be great and maybe some Formula 1 ambassador faces.

If you love TAG as a brand it's a great purchase and the fact you can exchange for a full Carrera at a reduced price after two years is a good incentive.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I think I'll go check a boutique on my next work trip to see how it looks / feels compared to the others. I really like the idea of being able to trade this in (w/ additional $) to get an automatic Carerra. Again, thanks for the feedback and recommendations.
