Thoughts on the Google Fabric Cases?

I've had mine for about a week and I can honestly say anything dirty or sticky that got on it (I have twin 3 year olds lol) just wipes off with some water. So far I really like the case. But like mentioned above there's no bottom protection but that's not a deal breaker for me.

It certainly is a very sharp looking case (I got the cement style) and the feel of the fabric is nice. I can't recall another case I've had where a few people have actually proactively commented on how cool the case looks.

For the past week, I've been alternating between the Google case and the Speck Grip.

I work in NYC and am out and about on the street a lot and generally feel more comfortable with the Speck.

Lack of bottom protection isn't a deal breaker, but I do miss it. I don't get the sense it would take a drop as well as other cases, and the lack of a front lip makes me worry about the front glass protection. Buttons are super easy to press.

Bottom line, this will be the case I'll use when I'm in a mellow environment and want to impress. I think I'll be using the Speck the majority of the time though.

Hey guys. I got the cement case for the 2 XL. I was wondering, for the people who used the scotchguard how long did you let it dry before the 2nd coating?

Never mind figured it out. Doesn't take long to dry. Double coated for better coverage/protection.Some pictures :D

I tried one of these out in the Verizon store the other day. I so wanted to like it because it's really sharp looking and felt great in my hand. However, I just couldn't get comfortable with the level of protection it offers. The open bottom doesn't really bother me. What turned me off was that the lip of the case is about even in height with the screen. So if one were to drop their phone face down in this case, IMO the screen is just as likely to shatter as a phone with no case.

So to those that bought the fabric case and keeping with the thin phone design an needing more protection I changed my mine on this case...any thoughts what you are going to use for more protection but still thin design?

so I have been using the case for 2 weeks now and I love it and the button still feel great granted when I need extra protection I use my otterbox commuter but I did that with all my phone's I don't mind swapping cases

These look real nice but I just thought of my magnetized car mount - no way a thin piece of metal is sticking to the back of these cases. Moving along now

for those that used scotch guard on their fabric cases, do you see it as a necessary protection?

For the UK members, Google have these fabric cases in stock including the midnight version on sale for £28.00.
Carphone warehouse also have them for £29.99 with free delivery or to collect in store.

Just ordered myself a midnight one for my black 2XL.

I ended up buying cement and midnight, they feel different from the dark one to me and look thinner. I likes these better

I found this fabric case to be too slippery too. The air is very dry here in Ontario (Canada) this time of year, making the case even more slippery.

I started to do some research on coatings for this case a while back in the hopes that I could add water resistance and see if some grip or a rubber texture could be added. I never settled on anything and just ended up buying another case.

Just got the carbon case for Pixel 2, and I have to say a little disappointed in it. I do find it slippery and having a tough time with one handed use.
