Thoughts on the Google Fabric Cases?

I really like the one fabric case from Google that I'll link below; but I switch between too many cases to spend $40 on one. However, if a sale or something crops up, perhaps I'd go for it.

I agree, though - they look snazzy!

The only thing worse than my Ringke Fusion Clear TPU Case is that it has less grip. But it looks way better, in my opinion. Check it out.

What tempered glass do you have? It doesn't have that Halo effect around the edges.

I always buy the cheapests one I can find on ebay. In this case, it was this one: https://www.ebay.es/itm/Protector-p...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I have come to the conclusion that the full coverage ones are not worth it and never work properly (dot matrix, halo effect, rainbow effect, etc)
The only thing better was buying the non full coverage one from Spigen, for example, because people say those have a anti smudge oleophobic coating (which the cheap one do not) but the shipping alone to Portugal costs more than the glass screen protector.
If anyone has another nice sugestion which has that coating I would like to know so I can try it (has long it dosent cost more than 10 bucks, paying 50 bucks for a protector like that Whitestone Dome is plain stupid, in my opinion.

Cheers

I too found the case a but slippery, but liked the look and after a few days I found the grip a bit better. maybe the oils from hands or the fabric roughed up a little going in and out of my pocket? my only wish was that it wasn't quite so " bulky" I really love the naked hand feel of the pixel and with the fabric cases were a little bit more minimal.

First drop with the fabric case. From 3 feet high. No damage. I don't have a screen protector, just the case.

I've had the 2xl and cement case since Nov. I don't find it slippery at all. looks nice. It got dirty after a few months, however I just put detergent on a cloth with water and scrubbed the case let it air dry and it looks like its new. The case is really nice looking and especially like the mint power button.

One day I may grab one ... I just couldn't take it to the pool hall for pool nights due to smoke :(.

I have the midnight case on my Panda. I like the case. I think it is a little slippery. I had the phone slip out of my hand this past weekend. My screen protector ended up getting scratched. Besides that the phone was fine. I know someone that says that they can sit the phone face down with this case on but I will have to disagree. Especially when I look at the phone from the side. I have a Whitestone Dome screen protector on the phone and I can see the screen protector when I look at the phone from the side. The case does not prevent the screen protector from touching when face down. I may send this case back. $40 just to look good isn't worth it. Yeah I have a screen protector but at the same time I could see the phone slipping from my hand again.

It's too slippery for me. I might just give it away to someone if they pay shipping costs.

I agree. I have one now and I definitely wouldn't call it "grippy". It's a cool case, but I would look elsewhere if you want protection and grip. It's better than no case at all, but not by much.

I just tried to use a magnetic car mount and put the metal plate inside the case. No good. The phone slipped right off the mount.

My magnetic car mount works just fine with mine. I simply put it on the inside of case between phone and case. Doesn't fall off and stays in place....

Odd. I tried it with a different case that had a notch built in for the metal plate and it worked fine. I tried it again with the fabric case and it slid right off the mount.

The Scosche mount probably had a more powerful magnet than the CravenSpeed one I have. I wonder if I can mix and match - use the CravenSpeed base with the Scosche mount.

I figured out the trick to get this to work. I put a larger metal plate inside the case and then stuck a smaller plate to the back of the case. It seems to be solid.
