Quick question for all those Droid 2 owners out there that have adopted things like aHome, OpenHome, PandaHome, etc.

Based on your exerpience, what seems to run the best on this phone?

I have tried one or two of the replacement software packages out there before but wanted to get some impressions from fellow Droid 2 owners.

I prefer ADW.Launcher over the others. Seems to have plenty of feautres and themes for it. Once you dive in and start adjusting the advanced settings you can personalize it fairly well.

I was using launcher pro, but i found that my D2 was slightly more responsive with the stock launcher. and i have grown to get used to it. although i do miss the perks of launcher pro. I'm so happy i don't have to watch redraws all of the time though.

Oddly enough, I keep finding myself back at the stock launcher. Too bad there isn't a way to just theme that with icons and the like.

LauncherPro FTW. The code is based from the stock Android launcher, with extra hacks built on. Its sorta the combination of an enhanced version of the stock launcher, better cut, and the "pure" messenger widgets.

I prefer it to the stock launcher, because the screen transitions are far smoother, and I have full control over look and feel of it. Even down to the color an icon glows, or highlights when pressed.

LauncherPro Plus definitely has some major advantages, but the countless redraws and the time it takes is just to much for me to handle. And yes i did optimize the settings to minimize complications.

I use launcher pro over stock because I wanted the landscape home screen without the keyboard being out.

I also like that I can have 15 icons in the dock which means I don't have to have my home screens cluttered with apps.

The only lag I had was when I set beautiful widgets weather app to refresh on wake-up, so I turned it off.

I started off using LiveHome but found that my phone kept crashing with it. So i went a purchased ahome and am completely happy with it.

ADW and Launcher Pro are both decent home replacements. Stuff like ahome and Pandahome are more complete, but because of this they require more memory to run
