Throttled for life on straight talk

Does the go phone option support unlocked phones such as my Nexus 4?

I see no reason why not. People already post in these threads that they use their Nexus 4 with AT&T's Go Phone plans. I think you just have to go to an AT&T brick and mortar store and they will give you the Go Phone sim and then you're good to go.

they want you to get a new phone, I've been with staight talk for a few years they met my phone service needs but I recently upgraded to the LG Optimus so I could use the web. I think I'm a little pre-mature. By all the posts it sounds like they are all crappy. These pre-paid plans are their way of soaking money out of the poor. they had to figure a way they can they could get around their own stupid deposit, if your rich you don't have to pay it because your credit report shows how much money you spend monthly. My phone gets turned off just cause my baby watches youtube, the phone came with the youtube icon on it so I thought I could use it. It sounds as if I gotta wait until some one comes with a better plan

I'm not poor and I use Straight Talk simply for the economics of it all! I don't need more than 100 meg per day usually. One day while traveling I did use almost 300 meg and no problems, emails, etc. from ST.

Straight talk is really inconsistant with their throttling. I used straight talk for 3 years, through different plans. In the beginning, they were 100% unlimited because they didn't have smart phones. Once they added on the optimus line and galaxy precendent, it was still pretty much still unlimited unless you did something ridiculous. (My husband uses Pandora, YouTube, and netflix daily to stream and never got throttled.) With the BYOP plan, they began to cut down more because the phones tended to be 4g capable and had WiFi hotspot apps preinstalled. It doesn't help that the hosts started putting their foot down on how much data they would allow to be used. With my LG optimus, I never got throttled and never received calls. With my iPhone 3gs, the same. When I switched to the sidekick 4g, I got a call a week into my pay period, and was throttled a week later. My useage habits had not changed, but i guess the speed at which I used my data did. This is just speculation, since I'm not sure if 4g was even supported at the time. All I can say for sure is that they really are inconsistent at best.

After yet another talk with ST customer service, I learned that all att Sim card customers on ST now have a data cap of 1.5 GB a month. I guess they are trying to rid themselves of att Sim customers.

Meanwhile, I will wait one more month to see if their promise to lift my throttle proves true. If not, I think I'm off to go phone.

I have been with AT&T for a year now and the only problem I have had is the $300.00 a month phone bill. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy s5 active from Walmart and it's the same phone as I had with AT&T, spent $700.00 well trust me I just wasted $700.00 straight talk (edit )..I can't even download my pink nation app. Or my amazon app. Such crap.

What a mess! You should give cricket a try. They use AT&T's network and I have been pleased with them, especially after leaving straight talk.
