Thumb drive?

Since the n5 doesn't have microSD and since I still will have painfully slow internet speeds for a while I'm wondering if there is any way to use a thumb drive with a microUSB adapter (if such a thing exists). It's much too hard to redownload all my media even if I could upload it to a cloud. Is it possible? What other options are there that I'm not thinking of? Tia.

The Nexus 4/7 can be connected to an external usb source and use that as internal memory. I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted, but it's a solution if the same method will work for the Nexus 5 rooted/unrooted.

The Nexus 4 does not support USB On-the-Go. The N7s do so you can use an adapter. I'm not sure if the N5 has USB OTG, but it most likely won't.

Wow, guys, thank you all so much. Looks like I'll be learning new stuff once I start using my N5. :D:thumbup::beer::D

People from the XDA forums tested it, including Chainfire, on the Nexus 5 and says it is usb otg capable. It'll feel good to have a 96 GB phone for those long flights.
