ThunderBolt 4G toggle

We obviously need a 4G toggle. Who wants to be the first to make one? Who wants to root theirs and load the EVO 4G rom and try out the 4G toggle that it has built in?

Pretty sure that won't work. It's coded for wimax. We might get a toggle in a custom rom at some point but I'm not holding my breath.

Conspiracy theory: Verizon left it out because they want as many people off of CDMA and on to LTE as possible, so their network doesn't deteriorate.

Ridiculous omission, although I'm sure someone will have a fix quickly.

I am in 4G area and I don't seem to be having any battery problems. So I wont vote. There isn't an option for "I don't have any issues and I'm in a 4G area"

Everywhere within a 30 mile radius of my house in 4G, and my battery has been pretty solid all day. IDK guys, sorry.

Quick Settings is a great app for toggling data.. but the app still says "3G" even though it shuts off 4G.

I agree with you and that is why I did not cast my vote as well. I have solid connection to 4G all day (Manhattan to Queens). Battery is surprisingly better than expected.

Like most radios (data, wifi, bluetoooth, etc...) the device burns the most battery when it is sniffing for the signal it wants but can't find it

If you can connect to 4G all day, you win. But if you don't live in a 4G area then the radio will burn the battery while trying to sniff (hunt) for a signal all day

Hence the need for a toggle switch

Found one fix:
Download Juice Defender (free app)
This app comes with a widget called "toggle mobile data"
that way one can turn off all mobile data, including 4g, when they are not in need of any data
fyi: calls and texting are still working
