ThunderBolt Can't really connect to wireless N?

I am having the same problem, it wont see the N band. I named them both different, N is Imperial Empire and G is Rebel Alliance (figured RetiredJedi would appreciate that)

Heck yea!!! I was getting excited when the guys are talking about cases and someone posted pictures of the case mate that looks like Stormtrooper Armor...hahah I'm a Geek.

Same exact idea. Y5 is the original app to do this and has worked for me for many moons so i just stick with it. I'm one of those "if it ain't broke" kind of guys lol

So KS, is it possible to have two apps that fight against each other and can use up battery life. For example, an app that turns things off that aren't connected and then an app that searches for something but can't find it so therefore it's not connected?

This phone does not connect to the 5Ghz band, only 2.4Ghz. 2.4 is still N, just not the fastest N.

Mmmm sorry for the slow response but i have a linksys Wrt160n V3. i have it set as Wireless N only and 20mghz channel width. Cleared the phone memory and then tried to re connect and still no luck.

Same here. The Atrix will connect to the 5Ghz but this phone will not.

Just found out that TB does NOT support 5Ghz wireless N it will only connect to a 2.4ghz N. I don't understand why they wont support a true N connection being that it is a cleaner signal due to les electronics being on that band. True N also supports further connectivity range due to this cleaner signal as well, but I guess 5ghz also uses more battery life.

So Today i tried out wireless n on my router and my phone will not connect to it. Even though the phone is wireless n compatible according to the specs. not sure if its a lie or ?

I have Linksys wireless N and have no problems with my TB on wireless at home, or work.

Or Bob Evans, Or StarBucks, or any place else that has had WiFi.

If anything, it's a little annoying that it picks up "WiFi available" even walking through neighborhoods!

I have a Linksys E3000 5ghz N and it found it right away.... but it is a dual 5 / 2.4ghz, so maybe it found the 2.4?

5 ghz is A/N dual band frequency . The thunderbolt won't use 5 GHZ DUAL band but will use 2.4 GHZ. Most all routers that are N should be backwards compatible to G at least . There has to be setting issue somewhere on your network if you can't connect to a N router.

That is an Android problem, not the TB specifically. I have a Dinc and it will not connect to hidden networks on Netgear routers and some others. Once they are set to broadcast the SSID, then no problems. I don't know about Linksys units, you'll just have to try.

To the OP, is your wireless SSID set to invisible? If so, try setting it to broadcast and see if you can then connect.

the thunderbolt only has a 2.4GHz radio but not the 5GHz so if you set your N router to 5GHz only you won't see it to connect to. Double checked this when setting up an enterprise wireless system at work.

I don't believe the Thunderbolt supports 5ghz. Battery issues. 2.4 ghz N works fine with my Cisco/Linksys E4200.
