My wife and I both are having problems with our phones lagging. Does not really matter what apps we try to open we get the dreaded black screen for 5 to 10 seconds before the app screen opens. What do we need to do. These are stock phones. Thanks

Yes, along with pulling the battery and sim card.

Sounds like Sense is crashing/restarting. Any recently installed app(s) that are common to both phones or anything new configured on both (ex. widget added to screen, started using a specific app for the first time)? If so, try uninstalling the app or backing out the last changed config.

That is what is driving me nuts trying to figure this out. She had installed the pinterest app and that caused some problems, so that was removed. But I have not added any new apps for quiet some time.

if you can't figure out what app it is, you can try a factory reset, but you would lose all data since you don't have root.

You could also have an app or several apps that are eating up a lot of cache memory. I used to clear my apps by going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. I now use an app called App Cache Cleaner. It's much faster. I clear the cache when things begin to run a little sluggish.

My Thunderbolt has been doing the same thing. I haven't added any new apps. I've tried everything also and nothing has helped. I don't know if it was some update to an app that I have that did it or what? I myself have been boggled. I wish that it would fix itself. I was wondering if it is Whatsapp. I and a few people that I know are now having long delays suddenly when trying to open pictures that we send each other.

No....but it will take a bit longer to bootup.

This is really annoying, I have the same issue it started 2days ago, after a factory reset the problem is still there! lagging, black screen, mute on-off, battery pulls and no one knows why??
