Are you trying to sync with MS Outlook or trying to sync with your work email server. Big difference.

i am trying to sync with the exchange server, so when someone emails my work email, it shows up on my phone. sorry that that wasnt clear. i have tried a few times and have the correct address.. ( i know its correct bc others in my office have used the same addresses with success). but for me it always fails.

id rather not use a third party app.. but the fact that some of you have done it makes me wonder if maybe im entering it wrong somehow.. ps. im running gingeritis 3d version1.1 if that matters... thanks guys.

I'm having the same issue too. I go through all of the steps fine, even up to the point of selecting data to synchronize and my update schedule. It then informs me that I have to activate security policies on my phone to allow the phone to sync with the exchange server. Once that's done, I hit the Next button to create the new account and it gives me the error message, "Failed to create the account. Please try again later." Not sure what happened or what other steps need to be taken after that. Any help would definitely be appreciated!

I'm also rooted running BAMF Soab 3.5.

Does your company MS Exchange IT support Exchange/Android? Do they have instructions to give you?

see thats the thing everyone else in the office has that other phone(!) and blackberrys so they havent really done it with android before.

HTC is saying there is something like, the server has to be shared on our end to enable the sync.. but i kind of didnt buy that. i feel like you guys no more than the reps any day.

Yeah, that's what I was guessing. BES Exchange is not the same as MS Exchange (exactly). It's entirely likely that changes would have to be made on the server-side to get this working. It's almost impossible to say unless you are an IT insider in the company and know how their server is set up. Can you ask them? Or, are you trying to do this on the sly?

Well my company has that info for Android phones in general, as well as, specific Android devices, but for some reason my Bolt just won't complete the setup. I'm thinking it might be my new companies security policies? Because I did it with my old company just fine(a couple of months ago).

no nothing sly about it. lol. i would rather have it separated to be honest. but the funny thing is that the our IT guy was the one on the phone with Verizon going in circles... after he left we called and got transfered to htc who said that there may need to be changes made on the server side.... so i guess what you are saying makes sense.. thanks Frank.. really appreciate it.

He will be in tomorrow and ill have to see how this goes. ill update the thread for anyone who is wondering.
