Hi everyone. I live in a drop off zone for 3g and get spotty coverage. I used to have a tbolt and got 4g in the upstairs room but noe I have a nexus and don't get anything. How is the maxx reception compared to the thunderbolt? Compared to the nexus? Thanks!

I am pretty sure the TB is the god or reception, then next is the nexus, it is godlike, then the MAXX is probably riddled with radio errors being Motorola. You know this post is backwards right?

Nice, you had me thinking you were insane for a minute! I had a Thunderbolt before and my MAXX has far better signal strength. I never had an issue with my Thunderbolt losing a signal but I do notice a stronger signal on the MAXX while in basements and such.

lol, I am always on the verge of insanity! Motorola radios are way better than HTC and Samsung. Still dreaming of a Motorola Nexus....

the nexus radios suck, i came from the nexus, and got no service anywhere, but with the maxx i get 3 bars of 4g where i had 1 bar of 3g

Amen, exact same experience as you. I am still holding out hope that an update will fix the Nexus and I'll get to put it back in service at some point.

If it doesn't fix the signal I might have to get a Maxx. I always miss phone calls which is a big problem

Yes, Motorola makes the best radios in android phones. I can't speak for their basic phones because I've never owned them... but for Android it's hands down awesomeness

Last moto I had before this was an og razr - amazing signal (both on tmo and vzw) and before that was a simple lcd screen that displayed b&w and had a blue back light... Never any complaints with the radios

Well I love everything about the nexus. The screen the camera the os. Etc the only thing I don't like is the missed calls and spotty coverage. Idk if its worth trading for a Maxx the removable battery is the biggest issue for me since I'm always on the go

Unlike with the nexus, you can go a day + with out charging. The battery is amazing. I did love my nexus but I couldn't stand the radio issues..:/
