Thunderbolt VZ Navigator is here but where is the phone?

Why would you PAY Verizon for a navigation app when the phone comes with one for FREE?

lol it's stupid on verizon's part. google navigation is much better then vz navigator anyways so why buy it in the first place?

That's what I'd like to know?! I've used both and google wins hands down. I guess there's still people out there who will still use vz navigator.

Ha, I was wondering when this thread was going to be put up. Yeah, I would never give up Google Nav for VZW's. Especially not when you have to pay. But hopefully this is another stepping stone on the way to a real release. We can only hope

I wonder who actually uses VZ navigator over google navigation? Cause you figure that Verizon wouldn't spend the money to develop the app unless there were suckers that didn't know you could be free navigation with google maps.

my guess is the same people who pay for vz navigator instead of using google maps for free are the people who pay for verizon's VVM service instead of using Google Voice for free..

The only reason people still use VZ NAV is because they believe that if you don't pay for something it's crap, or they buy into the stupid marketing of it.

a friend of mine was asking me what phone to get in december, after some deliberation it was between the Fascinate and the X. He asked if either had VZ nav, stating that it is a deal breaker. I laughed, then told him to get the X, then informed him of the proper navigation software. This friend has thanked me several times.

I'm a huge VZ Navigator fan. In fact it's one reason I switched to VZW 6 years ago. AT&T had no nav.

I've used it on every phone I've had, except the last year of my BlackBerry Tour.

VZ Nav changed to BING for its POI search results and it got bad. The directions were still good.

Then I got Garmin Mobile for free so I stopped using VZ Nav.

I'm looking forward to Google Navigation!

Chrisy,

You will love the Google intergration... Pss.. It's free too!!!

I hope it has all the POI search features. I use that a lot.

Garmin Mobile has a terrible search and I never use it. I end up using Poynt.
