But they dont have thunderom... i tried megatron but its really buggy with fc's

Ditto! Android newb myself and i followed Rootin' and backing up my Optimus T. everything went smooth first try. Thanks so much for the guide KSmithInNY. After reading about ThundeROM would love to give it a spin on my device.

flash back to original recovery?

Here is a recovery for you guys! Tested Working on xda by Joesph Mother



If you would like to back up your stock recovery you can do it via this command from a root shell PRIOR to flashing recovery

dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd2 of=/sdcard/recovery-dump-T.img bs=4096

I'm not going to host one as I'm not trying to get in any potential trouble from hosting LG's binary. Feel free for someone else to host and mirror stock if you want to.

so does this mean that if i wish to flash back to the original stock recovery i can simply place the stock recovery backup in the code in place of this modded recovery you have provided us with? for example:

# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-dump-T.img

instead of:
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-GNM-OPT-T-test.img

and it would flash back to the original recovery?
that would make since right?

that would be great if i didnt have to recover with the stock kdz when i wished to accomplish this.
but yes the recovery went off without a hitch, ill be watching for ThundeRom too hopefully it gets around soon.
im also interested if it is being based off of 2.2 or 2.3

It should take longer than other commends. Maybe several seconds, but not minutes.

I don't want to root my phone until I know there's a ROM out there that I can use to replace the standard Optimus T ROM. I see that the custom recovery works...any news on when we'll get a version of ThundROM?

FYI, since I'm a combat disabled veteran.. I think it's GREAT that you support Cell Phones for Soldiers..and I WILL Paypal when I do the upgrade to ThundROM

i did this not knowing that it was for a recovery...IT WORKS!!! make sure you back up ur data before doing this!!! im a complete noob and was following the directions posted on here but failed to read that i was now moving on from a root to recovery! dang!

I don't know how much a work it will take to make the ThundeROM compatible with the Optimus T... But I do know I'm not the only one really looking forward to it! Godspeed, developers! I'll be watching this thread DAILY for news.
